This is a really good rhyming poem you have penned for the contest about Daylight Savings time. I wish man would leave time alone and let it be what God wants us to have so our body would not be so confused! You used great descriptive, rhyming words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Grrr. This practice has been long debated...and that's just within my own family! My 9 year old grandson summed it up well when he asked: "What right do 'they' have to steal our time away?""

Hmmm. I agree! This throws off my circadian rhythm for weeks...and you are so right! I "Don't Laugh!"

Your grandson is a wise one! I am with you about the time change it takes weeks for me to sync back up in both directions.

This is a very good rhyming poem for the contest. I wish you the very best in the contest. I am fortunate that I live in Arizona and we do not change our time. The only real effect it has on us. Is that the time changes for us, as for the programs that we watch that come from the East Coast or from the West Coast.. Patricia

Patricia, you do indeed live in the sweet spot in many ways. Having come from the west coast and live in the east I get it about televised programs. I rarely can catch a full college football that come on so very late.

Ah, yes, the dreaded loss of1 hour of sleep. What for in our
current situation? You did a great job with your rhyming contest
entry, JLR. Of course, the rhymes were well chosen. Your message
as clear despite one's age. I like the repeated phrase Don't laugh! It
fits in nicely in each verse. Then we have fall backward--at least
we get the hour of sleep back. I believe we should leave time alone
and not mess with what God created.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes, Jan

Taking away an hour and not giving it back for months is a bit mean, but that is what is planned and if you die before you get your hour back then you lose it! Your poem is well written, clever, and I enjoyed your humour here, love Dolly x

Well-played, JLR
Love your humor and well-crafted examples.
I dislike Daylight's Savings Time - just another inconvenience - and I am often cranky for a good two weeks after it arrives.

Did you mean:
your losing an hour, I am told,
Or
you're losing an hour?

Thank you for the smile this morning...

Great poem and nicely written. Your poem has a nice flow to it, making it an enjoyable read. I will say that with the daylight savings time, it is a pain to reset all the clocks. The whole idea of it, doesn't make any sense to me. Nice illustration that you used. It went well with your poem. Thank you for sharing.

You've provided us a nicely written poem depicting mostly "con" arguments concerning daylight savings time.

Your poem had a good flow and cadence which for me provided for an enjoyable read.

Best of luck in the contest.

Seems time passing is the theme of the day. It is this weekend that time springs forward before Spring gets here. You would think, rather than guessing what day it occurs that we simply coordinate with March 21st!

LOL, when daylight savings time started in Texas in the 1960s I thought it was good thing, particularly in the summer. But as I am now well into my seventies, it is just a pain to reset all the clocks. Excellent work. Terry.
