Excellent poem about Rhyming Poetry Contest. I agree with you. It's better to enjoy life in the present...in the moment.

The rhymes and meter are not forced and they flow well.

the structure makes sense, it draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Your four stanzas capture the danger of this stupid time change. I like that you started each one with 'Don't laugh' (but I did). I especially connected with the four lines about falling which is my biggest fear! You're so right about it could mark your final day.

nice rhyme. story reminds me of a college day walking through the food line and at the end was an older gal collecting money. I expressed that the day was forever and her quick response was, it`s not long enough. That was close to 50 years ago.

Falling back in time vs. springing ahead. I enjoy the way you think, and this poem was my validation. I wish time were straightforward. This is a great entry for this contest! I'm unsure where the results stand, But I wish you much success, JLR. Best, JohnC

I agree the older we get the more we hate daylight savings time where we spring forward and lose an hour of sleep. This humorous piece speaks loud and clear about the lack of time we experience as we grow old and gray.
Thanks for telling it like it is!

This messes with me every time! I woke up this morning realized it was coming and sighed again! I must travel on Sunday too. Oh my! A delightfully penned rhyming poem on this subject. Sending you my best today as always.

Hi Jim,
This poem uses rhyme and repetition well to bring out your wit on the topic of changing time and how it effects us.
I would think it would be the opposite of what you state. You would Spring ahead to your death date and Fall behind to your youth when time didn't mean so much.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest.

Lol. Yes daylight savings can be confusing and unsettling. We will finish with our summertime daylight savings soon. Your poem was a fun read - and it resonates with all of us. The rhyme is excellent, and the metre smooth. Excellent presentation as well. Best wishes for the contest.

This is a good entry into the Rhyming Poem contest. The text is a good size.
The message is clearly stated and easy to understand. I hate the changing of the times. Just keep one time. You have a good presentation. The visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

Hello, JLR,
I like your rhymes and inner rhyme and your disdain (?)for daylight savings time.
I guess it's nice in summer when it doesn't get dark until 9:pm. Setting back clocks is a different story.
Nice poem and photo.
Good luck.
Cindy
