Lovely poem about your cherished pets. I appreciate the large font and the photos you have included of your pets. It makes the poem seem more like a personal interaction. Jacqueline

way too many friends in the house. Yes, the purse strings will be pulled a little tighter keeping these boys fed. What are their ages? I`d say Abdullah is 7. The cats, who knows.

When my mamma bought the villa in Spain , she started to feed the strays . The next door neighbour loved cats but he never sterilised them ..he said it was not right but at the same time he feed them very little.

Pacchito was one of the the many strays that my mother castrated he died crossing the road at just 18 months old.

We lived on a hill, and our garage was near the curb of the road
and the road was U shaped . Pacchito was crossing and the car came around and hit him he died instantly ..the guy didn't even stop.

Salem was the neighbour's house cat but when he moved to his new house some 5 kilometres away he left Salem so we adopted him..he was already old but with good food he lasted another to years.

Paco we took to Italy together with his twin brother Romeo. He was about 7 there , he died at age 15.

Abdullah we bought from an English breeder. My parents went to England to choose a puppy from the litter. He sat in a palm. He was two weeks old. His mother was Kunda (black) and father Pasha (golden). Parents named him straight away so breeder called him by his name immediately.

Parents went back to pick him up when he was two months old.

Abdullah was black with golden highlights which are very specific in an Afghan.

golden eye brows and mussel on the sides
a big golden triangle on the chest and the four paws half way up were golden.
his butt under the tail also had a triangle of gold fur.
He was very handsome and had plus personality.
He ate well... stewing steak, chicken , pork chops ..he never had dry food or can food but we did give him rice with his meat and once a
week pasta . His meat was fried in a pan.

His parents were champion show dogs but we NEVER EVER did that to Abdullah..he lived a care free life. And yes he was a spoiled brat. We keep his fur shortish.
He died at age 11 . Big predigree dogs don't last that long.

great. Some day I will tell you about the labs in my life. Thanks for sharing.

You can write something about them in a contest too and add a pic or too.

Labradors are very sweet tempered that s why they are perfect as guide dogs for the blind and disabled .

I love the beautiful photos of your pets and share your sentiments utterly. Being a bit of a perfectionist I would have tried to make the last word regrets to rhyme perfectly with the other two, but I can see the difficulty of staying with the syllables number requirement. Lovely presentation.

    I don?t understand

Pet, vet and regret do rhyme .

    https://www.rhymezone.com/r/rhyme.cgi?Word=vet&org1=syl&org2=l&org3=y&typeofrhyme=perfect

If you mean in length , i could have used another word with three letters but I thought my closing line was impactful.

Anyways all good.glad you liked the photos!

    Keep safe!

pets, vets, regret, would like to see 's' on the last word too, but a minor point. Congrats on a nice piece of work.

Beautiful photographs! It is true that vet's bills can be huge and pet insurance is expensive too! But, as you say, it's worth it! They are always such good company!

They are the children I did not have.

They are a handful at times but they make me happy.

    Glad you like the photos!
