Hello Lea,
I think you chose the perfect form for your theme.
The connection established in the first two stanzas adds to the impact
of the closing stanza.
Yes, our Earth is in trouble, but sometimes I think it is not so much the Earth, but mankind that is it trouble.
The Earth has gone through many phases in its long history, and it will likely survive this one too, but man is far more fragile and there is no other place to go.
I would have ended the poem "I am the Earth weeping..."
Either way, a marvelous poem.

You're absolutely right Robert! We can see the effects of our race all over this beautiful planet and see what we do to it. I don't know what we do to ourselves. And what we do to our surroundings with a careless toss. I thank you for your insight as well and I took you're suggestion to heart and changed it appreciate your thoughts! Have a great evening!

I didn't know you were going to end it with the earth I thought you would probably use the Creator heavenly father but the Earth worked for me.
This looks like another contest entry which I never bother with.

Hi there thank you so much again for you are always so thoughtful and knowing when you respond! I kept this as the earth as my attempt was too reach those people who are not environmentally conscious. I believe that every living thing has a language even if we don't understand it, it's still there. The Earth is one living entity created by god and it's voice is telling me "stop." I do a series of reels on environmental issues I. Travel? Around taking minute. Clips? Where will I go and why notice to be different in the world today? That was not there yesterday or the day before. A subject close to my heart as are all things spiritual. Your reviews and your kind comment are always important and taken seriously by me. I thank you very much for them hope that your evening is going well!

Thank you so much again! I want you to know The Earth and all living things in it on it are important to be and they are dear to my heart. You a lot o f documentaries on climate change show them on social media right righey? thank you very much. I'm happy this poem strikes a chord with people and with you. Yes. The Living Earth and all of us creatures are the expression of Love. Why we as a species are consciously destroying both the Garden and the inhabitants is beyond comprehention. Peace not war. Love not hate. Obvious choices! :>)

I dint think I would count this as a free verse poem, it crosses too many lines, I found very rhythmic with inner rhyme to compliment the flow, it propelled it beautifully, sounding in my mind as a great and lengthy Limerick, beautifully written, my opinion doesn't matter though, good luck, blessings Roy

Well no it's not a free verse obviously but it did say that we could write as we choose. But I will double check. Hello this picture is actually an ornate entrance to a very old library. Is possessing old and ancient knowledge which I find fascinating. Ancient history too a big fan!
