Love the economy Lea. I think we write with a similar approach. Just leaving each word to MEAN! The first line is the most effective, with its plosives, bursting, burn, bars. Great stuff. John

I just love the alliteration in this poem - it makes it all really powerful. The image of release is great and the poem reads really well. I am just wondering if it should be 'exists' in the last line as famine is singular - I might be reading the last two lines wrongly though so, if so, please ignore me.

I just love the alliteration in this poem - it makes it all really powerful. The image of release is great and the poem reads really well. I honestly believe that true freedom is in the mind, we can certainly think I'm terms of living in whatever kingdom we desire, but true freedom is the ability to give to others, otherwise we can be a slave to self. Beautifully written Lea, blessings Roy

I thought you might have created this image which complements your verse so well! There is a heat and burning forth in our challenges to defeat ills but not always with positive outcomes. Alliteration excellent throughout adding cohesion and strength to your sentiments. Are you aware of the effects of your alliteration?
Powerful. Especially the b's & p's. Notice the little explosion in the mouth as we pronounce a word beginning with b. & also when we pronounce p. Those a perfect choices for the meaning and imagery in this poem.
