This is a fine piece of poetry dear zanya! Indeed, frogs are the emblem of summer. We used to collect frog eggs from ponds and raise them in our bathtub.

This haiku, One Frog Croaks, presented with a 5-7-5 formatting, has got to be a lonely and eerie sound to both the frog, looking for an Amen, and the listener, wondering what this conservative utterance might mean.

I don't ordinarily long for the sound of frogs croaking, but after a crazy winter like this one - it would be such a welcome sound! This haiku captures the slow awakening of earth in the spring with this lone frog in the brown, murky pond. Well done!

reminds me a strange nightmare I had about a frog in a canal in Korea. the frog is angry at being displaced in his Creekside home by the development of restaurants and goes on revenge '
