Question: is Young Adult Poetry for young adults or written by young adults? When I first read this I thought I saw 2 punctuation errors; re-reading I found only one, which is that the first mention of birds should not have an apostrophe after it. Don't go crazy searching for the second one - I was probably wrong. Your poem has created a peaceful, gentle impression, so congratulation.

Yes, I have seen what you describe so lovingly in this gentle poem. This shows so beautifully what others fail to see when they live in the city or have other notions of where to spend their time. I love the flowers and the running springs that flow through a canyon and down to the sea. This speaks loud and clear about how you and I feel and I wish others took the time to see the beauty all around them.

Yes, to each of your four questions. I can do it more easily today IF I could make it to where these are collectively together, otherwise these old bones may need a caretaker to get him home.

I enjoyed reading this. The rhyme scheme is natural and the subject is interesting. I think children will enjoy a poem that rhymes because it is memorable and can be easily remembered. Your poem does bring up a beautiful picture in my mind. Nicely done!

This is a beautiful poem (especially in February). The scene you describe is the ultimate nature program when you are intimately part of the scene. Very delightful scene to imagine when it is 32 degrees and snow expected.

Willie,
This is a nice poem for Spring. The sunshine, flowers, and birds all make for hopeful images of a better time to come.

Your rhyme is flawless. This is an excellent poem for the contest.
Good luck, Willie.

Blessings, Cindy

You bring back a time when life was not so complicated. I am wondering what I would like - the carefree days of my youth or the present where I have the many things that I have worked for.

I think your poem represents well your inclinations towards appreciating nature. I wished everyone had that feeling that you do. I believe the world would be a lot more sympathetic to others. I wish you well.
