As a pagan, I really like to connect to nature. I think it's something everyone should do more ^.^ I'd give this poem 20 stars if I could... it's honestly just THAT amazing! This has GOT to be the contest winner!! Best of luck, my friend ^.^

This certainly created a sense of reflection and I like that the narrator feels that this place in nature is a sanctuary under that protective tree. Well done ABC poem with an AABBA rhyme scheme! Best wishes in the contest!

Your lyrics here are superb, they flow so beautifully and each lines share a mid-line pattern of rhyme. The prompt called for a poem that creates a mood, picture or feeling. This verse delivers on all three.

There is a sad tone to this ABC entry: one must flee to the forest to feel protected. However, with the current state of affairs and unbridled shootings, I can see how that may be.
