Roger is a determined man, and single! He also sounds honest, hard working and just a down right nice man. She could do worse ... like Henry!
Well, he has a year, and a lot can happen in that time. I'd love to see ice-sculptures being made from scratch. Sounds fascinating.:)) Sandra xx

I hope to get at least a good photo of an ice sculpture in to show. True, they are fantastic. Thanks for digging this chapter out and saying it is okay.

Much of what I said about the other chapters would apply as well to this one. I love how you manage to make your characters seem so real and totally believable and likable. If we don't feel like we know the characters and like them too, then readers are not going to care about what happens to them. You always create people I want to know more about. In this chapter you have introduced someone who appears to be a possible love interest for Marjorie. I liked the idea that he had muscular arms, but was slightly troubled by the description you gave.

The noonday rising sun glistened over muscular arms covered in a heavy coat. He worked in a confident manner.

The troubling part here is that his arms were covered in a heavy coat. This seems to negate the part about the sun glistening over his muscles. I can't picture this. Is it possible he might have removed his coat while doing this strenuous work? That seems plausible to me, in spite of the freezing cold.
The only other part I wanted to ask about was your last paragraph.

Marjorie hurriedly stood up and slipped her jacket on. Before she could jolt (bolt?) away, Roger grabbed her gloves off the table and slowly handing her them, (handed them to her) one at a time. Casually, he introduced his friend.

I am sorry I had to do this on my iPad which means we have to endure all the odd symbols that replace what I type, but my computer is in the hospital for repairs after my granddaughter borrowed it. I hope it is fixed soon. I also hope you will soon continue this story. I love how you tell us so many things about Alaska that we cannot know, at least, we who do not live there. You have so much knowledge to share. Your stories are the best!

I'm so glad you are returning to this novel. I wanted to know what happened to Marj and Roger. Hope a relationship develops. They do seem to be attracted to each other.
I really liked how you helped us see Roger through Marj's eyes from inside the car with "Startled, she stared at a frosty beard and twinkling, icy-blue eyes." Enjoyed the description of those huge blocks of ice from the lake!

Nice chapter to read. It was interesting to read how they get ice out of the lake. You did a great job as always, and I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter. I hope you've had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Shirley

Oh, how exciting. I can truly sense a blossoming romance!

A cleverly woven tale. This story flows well and your descriptive abilities invite the reader in.

You have clearly proof read your work as it is easy to read without grammatical or spelling mistakes.

Thankyou for such a great tale.

I could not help but read it in it's entirety. These days I only review writings that capture my imagination in the first few lines. It avoids conflict. A great read. Jacqueline
