Hi Bill,
I thought worms were already here and ruled the world ... the government, courts of law, real estate, banks, stock market, Nasa, gas & oil, etc.
I like the idea, though, that some inhabitants of earth left this corrupt ball for a new start where Star Trek never went. My question is, why would they return? Sequels are never as good as the original.
Nicely penned. You should have saved this for a Flash Fiction.
Cheers,
Kimbob

The Conquerer Worm

Vermicelli, literally little worms. I have only ever really thought about the term vermicelli in a culinary sense. Thanks for the tug back to the real world.
Your colour scheme and illustration set off your prose perfectly. Thanks again Bill. Jacqueline

My pleasure.

Kudos for getting a complete story done in 50 words. I know how difficult that can be. This could have been a contest entry. Nice surprise ending.

The contests lately are not my style.

I understand that there are many who have been threatened to being turned into worm food. It now appears that we all may become that. That is if your account is to be believed. Therefore, I hope and pray that you were just having fun, and fooling everyone.

Worms!!!

You have managed to met the requirement: beginning, middle and end. I thought it would be cockroaches. My husband was stationed in Germany. I was a Girl Scout leader. The only museum of any type was a cockroach museum of cockroaches around the world. YUCK! I know. There is no room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

This made me think of China's hovering white ball in the sky. As for worms ruling the world, I think they already do! Politicians are busy wiping the dirt off past deeds!

Worms do what we allow them to do.

Damn, Bill...
Your imagination rocks my world. Worm world? Wouldn't it be something. Imagine if it were so? What if it were Cockroach world... or God forbid... Rat world... ICK!!! Totally plausible though according to your story.

Clever name: "The world of Vermicelli had exploded." I love play on worms...er I mean words. This is well done with the challenge of the word requirements. you have the setting, plot, and characters.

How could worms come to rule the world like that in just a few days? I know they are everywhere, but thet=y are not the most numerous inhabitants of the planet, nor the most demanding. I am left feeling befuddled. kay

First, relax. It's just a story. Vermicelli are not coming here by spaceship. : )
