This is a great response to the challenge! I like how you made this into a rhymed dialogue with one's "alter ego" and that in the end they are both happy that they went! Congratulations on the win!!

Thank you, Helen. It is true I do have that debate with myself about to go or not go. I'm not ususally able to find enough reasons to stay home. lol

An excellent poem; I can see why it was the contest winner. Congratulations! I have had some of the same kinds of discussions, usually on different subjects. The older I get, the more I veto the argument. Good work. Terry.

Thank you Terry, I guess we all have those arguments with ourselves. Sometimes my better judgement loses and I try to tune her out. LOL I appreciate the review. It is always nice to win.

Haha, what a fun contest entry, Beth. CONGRATULATIONS
on your first place win. I like the way you formatted the words.
I liked the 'conversation' the two had. Great job with the rhymes
and message.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Congratulations on writing the winning entry! I can relate. I'm working on that critical voice and doing exercise based on how I feel when I exercise, not how often...etc...

Well done!

Thank you Gypsy, That other voice convinced that I needed to be there today so I just returned from the exerrcise class. Now I'm sleepy.

I do like this poem as it reminds me of how I debate with myself about whether to go running or not! The rhyming is good throughout and the rhythm does work well. The poem is also amusing so I wish you all the best with it

Oh, don't we all know her, that skinny, healthy, obnoxious alter ego. But we also know she's right. This is a really fun poem about the internal exchanges most of us make. Deep down, we want to all be fit and healthy.

Nicely done. A well executed work.

It flows, it's imaginative throughout, it rhymes well and is a good out of the box take on the prompt.

Best of luck in the contest.

This is a wonderful rhyming poem that speaks to the heart of nearly every one of us. You commanded our attention from the first line to the very last. I relate although I procrastinate.

You are most welcome for the read and review.
I have gone through some major transitions in my life in the past couple of years. I haven't posted in over a year. I believe I am about to swing back into writing shortly. Thanks for the kind words. You should be rewarded for your kindness. I'm just sayin.

very well written. The poem is so fitting because that is what we like to do to lose weight. And how we will argue with ourselves when we are dead tired and have no energy.

Oh my goodness, Mystery Writer!
Talk about relatable!
I opted out of going to my Zumba Aerobic Swim class today as it snowed yesterday... icy stuff... school's closed... black ice... even Facebook official... you get the picture...No guilt... just a little...
Best Wishes on an excellent poem and contest entry!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, Diane. I really appreciate the review and nice comments. I always feel a little guilty, but with snow I have a great excuse. I can't get down my steep drive.
