"Unable to Label" is an essay admiring those individualists outside the more homogenized mass of humanity. The author makes strong points: to be conformist has to definitively mean to be less adventurous, less inquisitive, more accepting, and more familiar. It sometimes appears that current political values desire a homogenization of humanity, which would be a grave loss to all the future potentials of we sapient Earth-dwellers.

Where you see homogenized groups I see the differences among us. I would hope that individuals among us would not let what you perceive as a political grave loss to our country and instead give freedom and hope to our community at large.

Hi Jesse, I totally agree with you. But it's hard for most to stay true to who they really are, especially as a young adult as so many are keen to tell you who you should be. Probably out of their own insecurities.

Young adults have a particularly hard time I agree but it is up to us all to stand up for what we believe in and be ourselves once and for all.

Yes, those you speak of are a special breed. We all like to think we are unique, but in reality, most of us are almost carbon copies from whence we came or those around us. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, Jesse, I love it when people talk about common sense. When what they are really talking about is all the idiot prejudices that we acquire before the age of 18. Reading this, I looked into myself. I don't think I became 'me' until later in my life. I'm more confident now than I've ever been. It's taken too long to get to this place. :) I agree with all you've said, and I have a few friends who I couldn't put a label on. They are the best friends and they are the ones who brought me out to be me--someone who is capable of knowing my own mind. I'm not sure what label anyone would put on me. I'll have to ask!!
