So, they better get married before they break their own resolve and do something they may regret, I must admit, I've never seen technicolour lightening, before and certainly not blue, but I have experienced hail before, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

The writing was... coy and innocent just as intended. Here's the thing. At this point, there is no tension or expectation or temptation. Every reader knows nothing more than pre-teen kissing will happen, and they will find a way for Cord to save her from something. In this case a sudden storm (no weather apps here), running right next to an invisible pool, where a dog suddenly knocks the always victimized woman into the water (who naturally can't swim. For some reason) and then Cord saves her... again.

Less than two months, nothing more than a kiss, and he wants to marry her.

Are you sure?

Thank you. The pool has been mentioned numerous times in this novel. It's not invisible. I actually wonder from some of your remarks if you even bother reading or just comment.

I meant in this scene. They don't seem to see it or chose (for some reason) to run next to it.

I do read your work. Very carefully. I think you have talent, but hold yourself to strict rules, that affect your work, making it predictable and well... you know.

I don't think many other actually read them. They just pretend. Say pleasant things and play the trade game, without trying to help you.

LOL, Everything is too right! She was having similar feelings as Cord, now she has to marry him!! I can see it all coming to a head very soon. It's been such a great story, Barb, I'll be sad to see it end. Well done. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, it will all come to a head. Who's going to change their living arrangements. Will Cord go to NYC or will Ali stay on the ranch?
reply by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell on 04-Feb-2023
Ali will definitely stay on the ranch. Cord would never be comfortable in the city, but I'm sure he would if only to be with her. I think Ali loves it where she is, and won't want to go back. ... Don't you dare send him to the city!!!
reply by the author on 04-Feb-2023
LOL I can promise Ali goes back to the city.

This is another excellent chapter. I am guessing, only three more chapters, there isn't time for a wedding. So my guess is they get engaged. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for the encouragement. With my very first novel, I sent it to Harlequin for an edit. This was years ago. I will never forget that experience. I was told, I really shouldn't do the wedding. Stop it when you're positive there will be one.

It looks like they are going to need to get married soon if they plan to wait until their wedding night. The temptation is getting stronger every time they are together. Something is always happening to Ali. He needs to teach her to swim. I'm loving it.

Yup, for sure he needs to marry that woman asap.

Great chapter, Barbara. Humorous, as she never gives him the answer he wants about the things she loves in Texas, the silly Newf knocks her in the pool, and she teases him about his ice cream addiction. I enjoyed it very much.

Hi Barbara. I don't remember if I've read any other parts of this book, but I have gotten in on the ending bits. I love it! I'll have to go back and read from the beginning.

Thanks for sharing your talent!

Rhonda
