Hello Sugarraay, this is such a endearing and heartfelt poem. When children begin to crawl and walk, you can see the woe and wonder in their eyes--such a joy. Your poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear. Of special note:
Then, daddy's hairy legs draw near
and... whoosh, she's up... her laugh rings clear.
(Fantastic imagery. I can Rosalie being tossed into the air, and I can hear her giggles and laughter.)
Good rhyming. Well chosen photo. Well done. This poem made me smile and laugh, and I thank you for that. Enjoy Rosalie. These are the good ol' days. Xo. Margaret ~ LateBloomer

Oh my goodness, Melissa!
What a little sweetheart!
And what a sweetheart of a poem!
You are going to frame this offering and present it to Rosie, yes?
Smiles all around!

This is just so sweet, as I read this from the baby's point of view, and the pleasures she can see and yet to encounter, so very well written and presented****kahpot

This poem is vey lovely filled with the joy of a parent watching the child take those early steps of life. The love expressed in the poem by the writer is quite profound in the choice of words. Well done, SUGARAY.

I love the picture of family love that you have painted with your words. Love grows with little encouragement. This is so sweet. Of course, you had sweet inspiration.

This poem, Travelin' Rosie, is a great capture of your granddaughter's first steps as a toddler and some of the activities involved in this slice of her slice. Neat.

This is a terrific poem about your young granddaughter, Rosalie. She sounds adorable! The poem is well written with perfect rhyme and meter with the exception of one line: "determined to reach this or that."
It is perfect iambic tetrameter all the way through except for that one line. The syllable count is the same as the other lines, but it doesn't read correctly because the downbeat is on "to" instead of "reach." That's the thing about meter. The accents or downbeats must be on a stressed syllable and never on a short word like "a" or "to" or "of" for it to sound right. I would suggest something like this instead:
"She tries to reach both this and that"

I like the cute picture! You capture that determination which babies often have. Toes are preferable to expensive toys! Lovely to have a poem of joy
rather than angst!
