Wow!
I feel you made compelling arguments on Sylvester's behalf.
I'm 68 and remember those cartoons very well.
Best of luck in the Devils Advocate challenge.
Cheers. John

Thank you, and thanks for the six stars. I though Sylvester needed someon to defend him. Tweety is not so innocent. He was always getting Sylvester in trouble.

Ah! Sylvester. He's right up there with Wylie Coyote and the Roadrunner. Two of my favorite villains. In my opinion, Sylvester is viewed as bad because of that coniving bird, Tweety. You convinced me that Sylvester was indeed bad, but I think he was set up. Now there's a challenge. Write 300 words on why Tweety Bird is the villain. :) Nice work. Good luck in the contest. Thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you. I thought someone needed to defend Sylvester. Tweety was forever causing trouble for the cat. Lol

You're welcome. Good luck.

Yes, poor Sylvester always got a raw deal. That was one of my favorite cartoons. It's a shame , I feel for the kids today with the high tech, futuristic cartoons. You do a great job of defending him`. Well written, I vote for him.

Thank you. Tweety was a trouble maker for poor Sylvester. He would set Sylvester up then call Granny for help. The cat needs someone to stand up for him.

I admit that this made me laugh as I remembered the hilarious escapades of Sylvester & Tweety Bird, especially when Granny beats Sly until he spits out the bird! Yes, you make valid points to justify the puss' "bad" behavior. I guess I was looking for something a little more creative and beyond the norm of your perfectly logical explanation. However, since this is not the voting booth, I think I'd be unfair to judge your work in that light. So, yes you presented a clear, concise, and SOUND argument! Good luck!

I am a Loony Tunes fan, and loved Tweety and Sylvester. Great story. Very enjoyable. Well done. You're right, he's just a cat. This made me feel bad for Sylvester for a moment. Thank you for sharing.

And, Sylvester Thanks You!
The truth is, although there are many cat lovers, NOT MANY have stood up for Sylvester like you have done. This is a very nice whaikorero! I must confess, I always viewed Sylvester as the dastardly villain lurking around the corner seeking an opportunity to bounce on our lovable cuddly friend Tweety. I repent and renounce the error of my ways.
And, I Thank You!

This is a good entry into the Devil's Advocate contest. Your text is a good size for reading longer entries. You story brought back memories I had of watching this cartoon. Your argument for giving Sylvester a break is well-told. I loved that you used a line of Tweety bird talking. It made the text firmly connected to the old cartoon. Your visual fits well. I wish you luck in the contest.

I love Tweety! Sylvester, I'm sorry but I think you are still a very naughty cat!-
I enjoyed your voicing of this piece and its consistency all the way through. I thought you chose great characters for this piece that suited the contest well. I loved the line "it was bad enough that Tweety usurped his place.." In such a humorous light hearted animation, I never would have thought to use the word "usurp" but it made me laugh at its place in this context. You have written an enjoyable piece here.

Thank you. I almost didn't use usurp. I tried some other words, but somehow, this one sounded right. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

I remember rushing home when I was young, and watching Sylvester and Tweety battle, and the appealing thing is, when that happened everybody was on Tweety's side, and poor Sylvester was laughed at, but one has to sympathise with Sylvester, beautifully written my friend, an excellent post, blessings Roy

Thank you. Yeah, one needs to see the cat's point of view. He must have been ticked when Granny got a new pet.

I think this is such a fun read! I think a similar thing about Tom and Jerry! tom is simply a housecat doing what housecat's do! Ridding the house of mice. though their antics are comical and their methods not quite those of regular cats, they are just cats doing what cats do

Thank you. I almost tood Tom and Jerry but decided on Sylvester instead. I'm a cat lover, so naturally I will take the cat's side.
