This is a real psychological piece. I can see where you're coming from, in your defense of him, with his horrible growing up years, but just from his beating of his students, I couldn't.
Question: your picture looks like a female and I don't get the significance.
I'm not criticizing, just curious. It is a sad story, all around.

It's alright, my mom asked me the same question! That is a picture of the character, (the story was set in ancient China so most characters in the show had long hair) and he specifically was known to be "pretty". Thank you so much for the reply!

Having such a traumatic childhood as this means you end up being misguided and know no other way to live. In the end we pay for our mistakes and there is no escaping what we do. I believe that even with a childhood like this, there is a chance to turn life around and live well, many others do it. A poignant write and I was enthralled by your story, love Dolly x

I do not know who your villain is.
It seems to me that your villain created a hard shell around him, never wanting anyone to enter in. Usually, those shells protect a violent hurt.
Your argument was believable and persuasive.
