I'm enjoying the story although it is uncomfortable being a witness to what may be going on in Hell. There is a bit of comic relieve here with the way Satan is dealing with his demons. I'm rooting for Candace and her child to be safe. It looks as though they might be for the moment. I'm wondering what happened to the driver waiting for her outsice the hospital.

"That grand feeling when you breathe out their name and inhale their presence." Great line - brings back memories of falling in love.

Paragraph that begins: DeeCayed blurted - take out the quotes before DeeCayed

A good chapter, Sal, with a little wit thrown in to ease the tension in the story.

I'm breathing a sign of relief for Candace, but I'm surprised she was not on a shorter leash. She must have her captors all fooled into believing she is loyal to them.

Look forward to seeing what the bungling DeeCayed and Nix have up their sleeves.

Until next week . . .

A conviction most would not make: "If I do, I become one of them, and I will never be one of them." This is a great image carried by a time worn idiom: "I power shopped in the hospital gift shop and found some normal clothes for Candace: a pair of stretch jeans, blouse, sweater coat, ball cap, and dark sunglasses." An interesting ending.
You may or may not remember the time I unknowingly gave you a 4. You new that was out of character for me. Well, I did it again to someone I ws hoping to introduce myself to her...Oooof. That did not go over well, but we did clear it up. I absolutely detest when someone admittedly gives me a 4 to encourage me to improve. So to know I gave someone a 4 is mortifying.

Interestingly, I do not remember that at all, so please do not even think about that anymore because you?ve made up for it in friendship, kindness, stars, and kindness. Did I mention kindness? Thank you so much for this. Blessings to you always and many many thanks for your kind five star review.
    Smiles. ;))

Yes, a major turning point. Satanic forces are never pleased with not winning spiritual battles. Abducted at thirteen - poor child. Very glad she will soon be totally freed, though doubtless traumatised. Well done.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and kind stars. Yes, it?s a battle here on and off but we know that in the to reality of our lives, it is the spiritual battle we fight in Christ. Thank you again and blessings to you all, Sally XOs

I thought DeCayed was about to lose his other ear. They were both very lucky, for now. I don't think Patience is going to be pleased when they go after Tommy. A lost ear might be a minor inconvenience after that.

Rough time getting into tis. I flowed with the first part and you had me there until we went to devils and stirred that bunch up. Because you are one of the best writers on the site, here is your reward.

I got a huge kick out of your comic description of Hell. It reminded me so much of (I think I've mentioned her before) a former -- deceased -- writer on FanStory who had a whole series of books about Beelzebub, whose slapstick antics, in her stories, were only outdone by the next one. I keep wracking my brain to remember her name, but for some reason, it's gone. Anyway, your description of the character is very, very good!

I have no other recouse except to send you both to Aspen Grove...." [No RECOURSE ... I know it's a case of hitting the wrong key.]

A fun read, Sally.

Jay

Thank you again for reading my book chapter and for giving me that correction in large print so I don?t miss it! My eyesight has been in decline for sometime and some days I think this is it. My auto correct in advanced editor has not been working either, and I?m not sure why. I should probably talk to Tom about it.

Thank you again, dear Jay. Blessings for your week !

About the bold face type, I only use that because we can't use italics to indicate the area that needs attention.

Every paragraph gives a feeling of what's coming next!? Even when you're sure...or, pretty sure...its nothing major, you still have that 'shivery' feel between each. Wouldn't change a thing in this one! The second scene, while playful, is sinisterly playful, and on point. Well done! Can't wait for the next!

I like that you add an element of comedy to the demons so it's not too scary. I think this could story could be a rendered into a video game/story so that kids could develop a sense of the reality of the spiritual battle we are in and have angels like Patience as superheroes instead of Marvel or DC ones.
Great job with Candace's escape and confession. I liked that she said that she saw kindness in Tommy's eyes. I think you can also add a sentence of Tommy looking at Willa holding baby Daniel and that causes a heart flutter so that the romance thread has more than one occurrence here.
Great chapter as always!!
