This is exactly why I am a dog person. We can learn so much about behavior if we just watched dogs interact. Thank you for sharing this Sunny story with us. I know she will do amazing things.

What a wonderful therapy dog Sunny is. If he can sense the unhappiness of another dog, surely he can sense human unhappiness, too, and know just how to react. You have a winner there!

What a sweet, sweet story, Wendy. You've got quite a remarkable dog there. He could really sense the other dog's anxiety and gently pulled him out of it. Beautiful. He will make a great therapy dog.
This was very well-written and a pleasure to read. Jim

Sunny is the perfect dog for his new job! Without being coaxed, he took it upon himself to try and make this poor soul feel better. Did that dog have a home? Had someone rescued him? I sure hope so!
Three cheers for Sunny!!!

Thank you Pam. Yes, the other dog had an owner, and was awaiting his turn. Perhaps ongoing treatment had left him fearful about what to expect - pain, or being separated from his owner. Felt so sorry for him.

Wow! I love this story! The idea that a service dog such as your dog Sunny could bring joy and happiness to another dog shows how much we could learn from pets! This story is so true and yet we often hold ourselves back from helping others when an animal such as Sunny picks up what to do and just does it!
Thanks for teaching us a lesson in diplomacy!

An anecdote that is full of hope and optimism. Animals can react intuitively and show affection to other animals and of course, people. Good luck to Sunny on the next venture! He is starting with the right name!

Thanks so much Sarah. Believe it or not, his name was Crank when I got him. (He's a rescue pet.) I had to change his name immediately to one which reflected his personality.

I enjoyed reading about your trip to the vet. Your dog sounds very compassionate, which is great, considering the job he's going into. I hope it all goes well for you, and by the way, thank you so much for the reviewing nomination. I think it might have been the first one I've had, and I really appreciate it.
