Sandra...

This is such a refreshing and life-affirming detour from so much of your work. The tightness, teamwork, and intimacy of the family unit is prevalent and palpable.

I love the cradlesong title and your "lullaby" metaphor--and your use of alliteration through is outstanding. Well done! Kudos to you.

Thank you for your review. I can be more than a one trick pony if I talk about someone's life other than mine. 😜

It funny you should say that, Sandra. I had actually used the phrase, "this is proof your are certainly not a one trick pony" in my review but cut it when editing my comments. Great minds?

This is very sweet and certainly reflective of new parents. Then the second one comes and you let him cry until he cries himself back to sleep.

Just kidding - for the most part:-) I'm so glad you are enjoying your newborn (if this is biographical), and I'm also thrilled to hear that your partner helps in the middle of the night.

Lovely poem and very good presentation. Good luck in the contest.

Pam

It's a fictional piece. This was not my experience. Thanks for the review.

This contest entry was beautifully written and inspired emotion with me. I nursed all of our boys. I enjoyed the way you had dad bring the baby to mom. It was precious. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

This is beautiful and much like my own life. My husband was very involved with our babies and brought them back to our bed for nursing. He was very good at rocking and diaper changing too. I can't imagine how a mother does this alone. Sending you my best today as always my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

Ahhh, the dance of parenting in the early days. Beautifully drawn with emphasis on love-stoked teamwork. The artwork you chose is perfect, too. Good luck in the contest!

This is a delightful poem of love, nurturing, sharing, and cooperation. Both dad and mom are involved in comforting and caring for their baby girl during the night. Your well chosen words provide great visuals. Your artwork pairs perfectly with your poem. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a very beautiful and well written poem for the contest. As I read it I thought back to the time when our twins were born and how much we loved them and we both had to take care of them. You used great descriptive words and very lovely imagery. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

I know nothing about raising and caring for a child. However, the visual you create in your poem is easy to see, as well as the love between the parents. This a beautiful entry for this contest. Terry.

I don't think there could have been an entry more perfect for this contest. You've used the parents of a young baby to define love. I liked reading about them both doing their share. I also liked the line about the elbow signalling, and the communal bed to suckle.

Well done. I hope your entry does well.
