I read through this twice as I enjoyed the story being told.
From songs to aromas, snapshots, salty tears to encircling arms and kisses.
Nicely done! John

Hello, Ms Sandy,
Beatiful poem about sweet memories tangled with grief...I can relate.
Music and smells can bring back memories. For me is usually music.
Excellent presentation, well done!

Grief is indeed a messy business. I've heard people say 'You need to get over it'. There is no such thing. One cannot get over it or go around. There is a path through, and it is difficult, but it is also the way to peace.
I enjoyed reading your list of bittersweet memories. ann

Sandra...
Wow! No one can evoke emotional connection like you. The bittersweet memories you trigger through sound, smell, sight, taste, and touch are universally understood and vicariously experienced through your words.
Your last line is especially evocative; Bittersweet memories, love remnants of a life once lived but now gone.
Outstanding!

This was such a sweet and sad reflection on times gone by. It had nostalgia and also an acknowledgement of it. The imagery was wonderful and added an immense sense of connection to those memories. I thought it was incredibly well done. Thank you for sharing.

This is both heartfelt and heartbreaking. Clever and creative writing uses how the senses bring back memories and emotions. Hearing a song, an aroma or tasting can bring sorrow or bittersweet memories.
Brilliant!
Best wishes,
Mary

Dang it, Sandra, you do have a way to reach into the locked mind and heart and pull out stuff tucked away for another day, if ever. Your wonderful down-to-earth style with a message is phenomenal. Excellent work. Terry.

This is a very touching read. I like the way you have incorporated the senses into this emotions grabbing poem. Very clever and creative.
A life once lived and now gone and so dearly missed. I surely can
relate to how this can summons grief at a split seconds notice.

Hello Sandra's Back - Yes -What a lovely poem about biter sweet memories - can't help but feel sorry for those with no memories at all!! Living at the end of their noses. Poem has an excellent picture presentation - and uses many delicious metaphors describing all the senses -plastic sheeted album pages - nice - life once lived but now gone - but really alive and well in your memories - that actually include those of one second ago - yes? Nice Job. AP
