I found it a real joy to listen to your story. I am losing my vision. Therefore, I have to listen to the writings of others. I too am a writer. However, when I was in high school, I almost failed high school. I really didn't think that I would ever become anything other than to be a wife, a mother and a friend. But it seems how God has given me the ability to write, and he wants me to write poetry and stories that bring praise and honor to his holy name.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. I love how far technology has advanced, so accommodations, like listening features, can be added. You have a very inspiring backstory, too, and I know He's pleased with your efforts. He gives us talents, and it's up to us to use them for His glory. Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D :D

Thank you for a wonderful reply. I wrote a cascading love poem tonight that I will post tomorrow. I also, have a book that is now in the printing process and should be available in later February or early March. The title of the book is 'A Masterpiece for Him'. It has 100 spiritual poems and can be used as a devotional.

I was happy to read about your journey and becoming a teacher/writer. The world certainly needs people like you in the teaching field today. What a difference you can make as you encourage young minds and their dreams along with your own.

Well done.
Blessings
Janet

I'm so glad you found yourself. I went through something similar during a job search, not sure what a good fit would be for me, and started wondering if I wasted my time in college. Of course I didn't and I found my own way. Thanks for sharing this interesting story. :)

I also was an English major. The difference is that I became ill and couldn't complete my education. I was thrilled to read of your success. It felt like maybe it could be me someday.
Your poem was touching, and I loved the repetition of "it's in your blood." You did a great job.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about your illness. You can definitely do it. The nice thing about college is that it doesn't matter what age you are. You can attend anytime. I wish you the best of luck! Thank you for reading and take care! :D :D

I enjoyed reading your prose about your career journey and determination to be a writer. Well, congratulations. You are definitely a writer and knew that was what you wanted to be since childhood. Unlike me. I retired from social work after thirty years, taught preschool for thirteen years and then decided to try my hand at writing.

I cut and paste my work to FanStory. I then click on 'Advanced Editor.' From there, you can select colors, font size and design, and skip spaces. When you cut and paste from your computer, these features do not transfer. You have to select them when you're in FS. At the bottom of your page click on 'Save.' Then click on 'Preview." When you are ready, click on 'Release to the public.' Hope this helps.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. I used to joke that I came out of the womb holding a pen in one hand and a notebook in the other. I love writing, but I also love teaching. Both careers are rewarding. It sounds like you've had an interesting career journey, too. I hope it continues to go well for you. Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D :D

I'm just wondering why you entered this as a poem, when really it's an essay, prose. But I'm glad you've made the journey into writing, I love it, I've been a songwriter, lyricist before reverting to poetry. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Roy. I must've misjudged my post. Is there a way for me to change it in "editing mode," or would I need to repost the whole document? Thank you again for reading. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it, my friend. Take care. :D :D

Depends what you want, get in touch with Tom he can change you to a prose post, to put it in stanzas, I was surprised you had trouble, or repost from word on your PC. Good luck Roy

Your poem really resonated with me! I didn't want to be a teacher. I wanted to be a writer. I got a teaching degree because my husband insisted that I would always have a job it. My aspiration to be a writer was something of a joke in our circle. I tried many different jobs before I went to work in education and gradually I came to love it for all the reasons you've listed here. I retired several years ago and I was lost. I didn't know who I was if I wasn't a teacher. Now I am a writer, but I sure miss those kids.

I would have to reiterate and say writing IS in your blood. I enjoyed following you through the ups and downs of certain uncertainty. You seem to have always come back to the same conclusion. What took you so long to figure out passion (s) is not singular. I loved this one! Best, JohnC

Hello A. Myers
Are you new? You're the second person I've seen that's asked me that today. (or asked that)
Have you been in the Advanced Editor?

If not, that's the place you want to be.
You want to go back into your work, (bring it up and click on "Edit This" then click on "Advanced Editor" below your work. (if you don't see it you're already there.)
Then you can just go to your work and edit it. Don't forget to save it afterward! (bottom of the page)
Save after you edit your writing, save separately after any changes you make to your work. If you change your image, save, change your work, save, change the notes, save, change background color, save. If you have more than one of these things to do, do them separately.

When you put your work in for the first time, there should be an option near the bottom that says "Preview" choose Yes. It will let you see your work and correct anything you need to fix, or change, before you release it. Nobody else can see it before that.

If you need anything else, just ask!
Happy writing!
Susan :)

Teaching is a labor of love. Those little bodies worm their way into our hearts. I enjoyed reading post. It's real, and to me that's the most important part about it. Yes, listen to that voice.
