I like the repetition of, it's in your blood. I love to write and make sure I write something everyday. I wish I'd started years ago when I wanted to but didn't feel I was good enough. Now I realise that's the way we learn our craft. I was an idiot, but I'm glad you went for it. Well done, I enjoyed travelling along your road with you. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Sandra. I know that feeling very well. In my early days, I got some criticism that wasn't constructive, and I *gave up writing* for a time. But my heart brought me back, and I learned to survive that kind of feedback more gracefully. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the story, and I wish you the best of luck in continuing your writing journey. Never give up! Take care. :D :D

I'm glad you see yourself as a writer. I know of people who don't, just because they're unpublished.

I would have made this a little shorter, perhaps. I liked the repetition of "It's in your blood".

It looks like you have solved the spacing problem. You can make the font size larger if you want.

Writers write. We have all gone through this stage. About 31 years ago, my husband persuaded me to become an engineer since I had a BS in physics and later I got a Masters in Electrical Engineer per his suggestion. I have been working as a software/hardware engineer since then. I also raised a very nice son but I have never stopped writing. Now finally I can almost write fulltime. Retiring soon and working part-time.

Welcome to Fanstory! I enjoyed your recap of your inspiring journey. With 40 reviews, I expect someone has already answered your question. It's the same question I had when I first attempted to cut and paste a poem that I'd written on Google doc to Fanstory. What I do now is copy and paste the poem into Fanstory's basic editor. Immediately save it. Then open it up and edit it using advanced editor. You can then choose font, colors, line spacing and other formatting options.

Looks like we have something in common. My seventh grid
English grade teacher got me interested in writing. She always commented that I was a good writer. I haven't gotten rich from my writing, but I've had a whole lot of fun. Willie

Your story is an inspiration for all of us who are ready to throw in the towel. I wish I knew how to help with the spacing, but all I write is prose. I admire you for hanging in there against all odds.

Hello A Myers,
You've written an excellent prose poem that tells a wonderful story.
The ideas of self worth, sticking to your dreams, and never giving up
all resonate and may inspire others.
Teachers are the backbone of our society. In Asian countries they are held in very high esteem. The simple truth is, YOU make a difference.
I thought the presentation worked well, its reads easily with the spacing.
While some might suggest posting on the prose side of the the site,
you'll get fewer reviews.
Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert

Wow! A profoundly expressive piece of poetry you've written here. I love poetry that expresses it's author so clearly. So naturally I selected 5 stars. I hope you never give up writing, especially when it seems so prevalent in your heart and mind. I understand the doubt though; I am a twenty-seven year old man, in Bible college, in the state of West Virginia. Talk about wrong area. But, I won't stop- because I can't stop. You shouldn't either.
Teaching is such a cool, yet essential job to have. I mean you really have the oppertunity to make a difference in someones life. Great Job- keep writing.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. Oh, wow! Thank you so much. I really, really appreciate your compliments. I can promise that both writing and teaching are in my blood, and I won't give up till it's my time to leave this world. I know that feeling. I moved from CA, where I attended a secular college. That was "fun," but I still learned and matured a lot. Had lots of discussions with my friends and family. You got this. I love your confidence and persistence. That'll serve you well. Best of luck. Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D :D

Your words express feelings most people experience at some point. It really doesn't matter what field you choose - there will be doubt, fear, hope, pride, and uncertainty along the way. I also identify with your statement 'it's in your blood'! Something you cannot ignore. Thanks

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. Yes, those are familiar feelings we all feel, no matter our profession, and if addressed properly, they can help us grow and mature. My dad used to say that FEAR was "false expectations appearing real." Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D :D

I enjoyed reading this biographical poem. It touches the reader and shows how in life a passion does not have to go away, we can still do something even if we are not working at it as a job. I love your descriptions of your teaching career and then how you still are writing. Excellent poetic form and use of words. I cannot help with the spacing, I have trouble with it myself.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much. It's been quite a journey for me, and though I've made many mistakes, I wouldn't trade them as they've shaped me into the woman/teacher/writer I am today. Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D :D
