I see so many people who do actually post twice a day and push their posts up to the hilt. I can only believe first that they actually do feel as you have described, and second that they plug an unbelievable amount of real (and presumably hard-earned) cash to feed this astonishing desire. What drives me? I really couldn't say. The feeling that I've written something I believe has value - afterwads the perception of the reader is interesting of course, and sadly often changes my own. Congratulations on your bronze medal, and here's a 6 star before the end of the month to hopefully boost this into the top ten Kay

I know. It's crazy what some folk will do to reach the top. There's not enough hours in the day to pull that off with my agenda. I drive a truck at night so I have time to think about what I might want to add, contest wise. I know I sure don't have enough time or 'real' money to pay to get to the top. Lol. I was actually surprised when I saw that I even on the list at all. That's where this ridiculous idea came from so I just ran with it. Haha. I really appreciate the great review and the giant sixer, Kate. I'm glad you liked this silly offering into the contest. Thank you.

That wasn't that long. It rhymes nicely and a nice flow too. My only negative thing I can come up with is that it does have much about temptation. But it's still very nicely written. I love it when the measure meets.

It's a hilarious piece. I loved the rhyme of it and of course the obsession shined through in every verse. I'll admit, I do check the rankings once or twice a week but doubt I'll be in top ten much longer. It's hard to juggle this and work full time. But I did thoroughly enjoy your post. Gretchen

Reaching the top in their rankings really doesn't matter to me. I was just surprised when I saw I was actually up there at all. I know some folks try their darnedest to get up there so that's where this ridiculous idea came from so I just ran with it. Lol.

Hey, Rickie, hello. Thank you for the great review and the big sixer. I wasn't really wanting folks to give up sixers for this silliness. The rankings on here don't mean a thing to me. I was just shocked that I was even up on the top ten list. I haven't posted enough to justify being there. After that, I got this dumb idea and ran with it. I love poking fun on here. Lol. "Tempted to Reach the Top" is a funny poem in which a witty, self-effacing narrator talks about the motivations and processes that move an author upward in the FS ranks. He's very aware of how the member dollars work, and knows you 'gotta spend money to make money.' As in politics, success isn't necessarily being the best; it's more about being the best advertised, and perhaps the friendliest. Dragonskulls skipping meter and rhymes keeps this jot floating and funny, and I suspect the twisted face in the photo at the top may be of the author. Nice job.
