This is a very well written Flash Fiction story you have penned for the contest. You used very good descriptive words and very nice imagery from the art work you chose. I am so sorry you lost all three of your sons. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, teri

Thank you. The story is fiction. Although I did lose my sons, I never felt as described in the story.

This is a sad story that is extremely well-written considering how few words you had to make it clear you not only lost your sons but also lost your faith. I am so relieved that you didn't lose the faith when you lost your sons. God bless you throughout 2023.

Thank you. Nah, I didn't lose my faith. It is a fictional story where I express what someone might have felt under the ciccumstances. I did lose my sons, but not my faith.

I cannot imagine the pain of losing three children. I wouldn't blame anyone who felt the Lord had abandoned him/her if they lost just one child. One never recovers from that. It doesn't help to say that God gave up His only Son. It doesn't help to say that death is part of our fallen nature due to Adam's sin that condemned us all.
Of course, your story only tells us a heartrending story but that it ends with questions, the readers would want to give an answer even if unsatisfying ones. Still, He is with us even if we feel abandoned.

Thank you. The story is fictional. I did lose my sons, but not my face. The story is expressing how an idividual might feel under those circumstances.

well, ma'am, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't blame you for asking. To out- live three sons is the saddest thing I can think of. I'm not saying you would blame God if you asked, but I would surely have asked, if it had been me.
I worry about this country and wonder where God is, as it goes down the tubes.
At any rate, I'm very sorry for your losses. It must be painful to write about.

You have met the criteria for flash fiction, write a complete story with a few words. Your fiction story felt very real and definitely tugged at my heartstrings. The picture you chose works well with your story. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Beautiful words. Powerful imagery. I presume you are talking about religious faith or God? Such an emotional story told so well. Congratulations on an excellent piece of writing.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your three sons. How devastatingly terrible.

Even with and through all the terrible events in one's life, never lose faith in the lord above.

Your post shared your emotions and question.

Blessing, John
