I love the picture you have picked to go with this piece. The words are filled with heaviness as they are read. I felt myself sink on inside wanting to escape. I am so sorry you are not well.

The idea is to write this poetry from a person who's actually affected by the disease.
And see how well I can blend the two together.
Thanks for sharing and have a good day.

This work has reached the exceptional level

You are blinging in the new year cause you spoke so strongly for me right now, as I sit getting over a crying jig, tired of not having me to move this body with ease and no pain anymore. I thought I had Covid a year ago, I coughed till I thought my stomach would fly out of my mouth, but I tested negative. It was 4 months till a chest test from my copd Dr's. order, revealed pneumonia. I'm told to slow down and do my breathing exercise to clear out the lungs thus enabling more oxygen intake when you breathe. I don't empty my lungs enough to get more oxygen in me. A copd favorite. It actually works, especially if you think you are close to a heart attack.

BUT WE ARE STILL HERE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BELATED BIRTHDAY. I'm 68 yrs in March and I have yet to meet my new grandson that was born in June. I won't fly in the winter to Edmonton for X'mas and I was seconds from drowning in the Canary Isl on my way
to meet my 2- week- old granddaughter in England, a few years ago, so I would also like to live through to 69 yrs, it has a better ring to it anyways. lol and I still have a lot of things to do.

I enjoyed reading your pissedoffness over your breathing, sorry for being a weirdo but it lifted me up a bit.

When I first got up the idea to write this book infections poetry I was in the hospital laughing at the face of the results that I was negative on RSV but posited on the Covid-19 Variant Number-2.
Now even though my lungs were tested clear I could still feel the creepy phlegm in them at night as I would wheeze.
Wr all know that can eventually take our last breath away.
No biggie I'm extremely active, healthy, and laugh in thr face of Death!
    ...
Now the idea originally was to stay infected for at least 10 days and try to write this book and complete it.
But the problem with that Lulube, is you're only allowed to posts a day.
Yes, and even though I double up sometimes but I also had to keep my other books Rolling Along.
    ...
It took me 3 days to finally get the results back when I tested or retested right before New Year's.
Yes, and yesterday the results came in I tested negative.
    Kinda happy and disappointed.
Which I wanted to be a secret.
    Because everybody's praying for me.
Yes, and the fact that people still think I'm sick will get me better ratings!
Also, of course help my writings.
    ...
But thanks for sharing your story and don't worry you're on the right path.
Breathing exercises also take long walks.
And, if you cannot run or jog as me anymore.
    Then ride bicycles.
    I haven't driven in almost 9 years.

funny you mentioned bike riding. Yesterday my boyfriend showed me, double wheeled, training wheels to put on my bike. lol I'll have 5 back wheels. I have been getting sudden lack of balance, the kind you go, whoa and firm your footing. I was standing, straddling my bike in a beer store parking lot, talking to a friend, when all of a sudden, me and the bike were on the ground. It was a classic Monty Python move. I get right out of breath just walking to my room from the kitchen and back. I'm on 3 puffers, which I am lousy at taking daily. That and kidney disease and chronic, severe back, neck, leg pain are my big 3. They keep me busy with appointments and tests. So here's to us making it to 69 yrs. Cheers

I am so sorry you have been battling with Covid. It is not a nice disease, but I haven't found any nice ones. Thank you for writing this and letting us know. You are in my prayers. Take care! Teri

Yeah the little wench don't play fair. She sucks the breath right out of you daring you to cross her evil door step.it like to stick to you like gorilla glue gumming up the works. Making you Jack and cough with each and every breath you take, I will pray for you in hopes it will run its course soon my dear friend.

Again, thank you for the update. I am continuing to pray for your recovery. I know others are two. We are approximately the same age. I turned 69 today. I can't say I enjoyed reading because of the subject matter, but it is very well written.

This piece captures some of the horrors and frustration of COVID and its seemingly endless hold on one's breathing, energy, bowels, and overall sense of recovery.

You did an awesome job making covid an entity.
" insidious intruder" and "unholy monster", says a lot.
I'd rather think of her as a hater instead of a lover.
But I guess she loves death.
nice job.

    Thanks,
    Rebecca.
    And, Yes!
Once you've lived with this Quest.
At best and it's only going on 8 days.
Yes, but once you have RSV for 2 weeks before.
    (Like me)
You get a new Awakening of how precious life is.
Yes, as the broccol pneumonia can turn into walking pneumonia and eventual death!!
