Multiple use of the word "ass".
Surprise ending, eating hay but not a horse.
Hand-counted sixty words so meets that requirement of the contest guidelinesl

What a fun contest entry, Gretchen. I enjoyed reading it.
You led readers on then hit them with a twist at the end.
Great little story in 60 words.
Thanks for sharing and for the laugh, Jan

Hahaha....This is a good 60-word dash entry. The story is clearly stated and cleverly told. At first, I thought it was a woman. I was relieved to know it was a donkey. The text could be one or two sizes larger. It would also enhance your presentation if you had a visual of at least a stable. Good luck in the contest.

I am lost in thought on this story; at first, I thought they were talking about the horse, but then was a donkey kind of walking around being admired from behind?

It's hard to state very clearly in 60 words. Lol. Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

This sixty-word story, Lucky, has the proper word count and notes that being an ass is not a bad thing. Now, being an assHOLE is a horse of a different color.

Yes, sir. Being a whole ass is definitely better than being an ass hole. Thank you so much for this nice review. Gretchen

This is hilarious. I don't know how you flash writers do it, but this is so well done. You draw the reader in with your first line and lead us skipping along with the playful dialogue. Great piece. Good luck.

Very funny from the start, and keeps the reader wondering what's going on?? Is that perverted stuff really admissible here...sort of question. Then the twist and I say: they got me!
Very good plot and ending.

Good thing it was an Ass. It was a cute, humurous, flash from the point of view of a farm animal who was glad to be admired, and happy not to be a run of the mill horse. I though it was a very good entry to the 60 word flash contest.

Say What? Your opening sentence really captures the reader's attention. When I went back and read this clever short story the second time, I got it. It wasn't a woman or a horse talking. Nice play on words. Best wishes in the contest.
