Kids are excited to receive gifts. They like to believe Santa's are real. What is more important to them is that the gifts are real.

I like you mention the gifts today compared with my childhood days are different. It shows how technology changes this world.

Today kids can expect. " headphones, video games, I-pads Etc."

There it seems, are many things for which we can give thanks. Modern gadgets will quickly quiet a rowdy bunch. Also having a quiet place that one can escape to, accompanied by a suitable libation. I loved this very much. In fact I wish I had a six to give it, but I sadly do not.

Extremely funny and enjoyable to read. It's been a thought that had crossed our minds many years ago now, during the age of Walkman etc., to just hit our 3 kids with socks and shirts, but we were not prepared for the rebellion!!!

Oh my Lord, this was fantastic! Two years ago I asked the kids, "So would you rather have a traditional Christmas tree and presents or a trip to Miami?" Without hesitation, they all screamed back, "Miami!" It was the best Christmas ever, and it actually cost me less than the traditional Christmas. This was a really fun read!

That was a great idea, Mariana. I should have thought of that fifty years ago. I can't believe that it was that long ago. Christmas morning is much more peaceful now.
