"You, my friend, are a bad influence." It's seems to me like I might have heard this say to me more than a few times. And it does seem to be because of wild hare ideas. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

You a bad influence...Never! Well, they do say not to ever say Never and maybe that applies in your situation. Regardless... I love it all!

I think most of us would be blown away if we discovered a bullet riddled vehicle with toe bodies in it, and Wyatt is justifiably anxious about it, sharing with his colleague Terry. Hank and Emmy are involved in the same objective, but in a different way. Beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

Man. I'm beginning to think diamonds aren't anyone's best friend! I can not wait until all these separate entities start crossing paths...

I know how great you are at taking 37 pieces of yarn and making them into one perfect bow!

Hey--thanks for the Hank and Emmy "fix"-
I'm sweet on them like Hank's sweet on pastry!

    Good morning

Thanks for enjoying the story as always and making me smile as well. I hope to work in a few sweeter moments for the two besides Hank's love for pastries. I'm enjoying adding the more intimate moments to the crime story and I think everyone likes it as well.
    Hope all is well....

You always seem to find the right balance, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the crime(s) while also gifting us a bit of romance.

    Of course, you are! LOL

I don't know how I am sitting at this computer, but the distraction is far better than lying in that bed watching old Hallmark movies. Besides, I so love chatting with you.

Writing, for you, is like another layer of antibiotics! It gets those goid endorphins pumping! (Although Hallmark Christmas movies are also good for your health!)

I love the Hallmark though I've seen most of them... I tend to get emotional and go through a ton of Kleenex. That's why I watch from my bedroom ...alone! Yes, writing is what drives me and lifts my spirits.

Packed with action, and multiple crimes happening because of the jewel heist, and resultant widespread greed. Crispy and her dog will be in danger now, as also Sandy. Hank and Emmy - a good working team. Surely they'll link up with Garth soon too.

    Error fixed and appreciated!

I'm hoping Crissy doesn't let her inquisitive nose for a story get her in too deep before she speaks to Garth again. Thanks for following along on this wild journey.

I most enjoyed the dialogue between Deputy Wyatt and Police officer Terry. Wyatt knows he could lose his job, and Terry knows he could lose his bonus from Costello if he can't prevent legal authorities from destroying Costello's chances to acquire the jewels. Unfortunately, Crissy is going to stick her nose where it can get shot off. See you in the next chapter.

    Good morning, Lorraine

I too hope that Crissy thinks twice before following the story without back up from Garth... but????
The deputy and Boston's officer are in a pickle and there's no way this can have a good outcome for them. They are caught between right and wrong without an escape hatch.

Glad you are still enjoying and I appreciate your comments.

This is an exciting story with a lot of people involved doing their own thing rather too often. The girl with the dog seems likely to either get herself killed or make life difficult for the bad guys. Well-written and proofreading is well-done.

Seems like Hank is about to make a mistake. Always, get the chief's okay before going to another jurisdiction.

Will, Terry find her and her dog from that little to go on? Maybe. Wyatt sucks as cop and I sense he is dead weight that will have to be delt with.

Solid writing.

I agree...Hank had more freedom in Gulf Shores and doesn't take his new boss into consideration before he follows his bloodhound nose for crime. It could very well get him into hot water.

Terry has found himself in over his head and rather than tell Costello, he thinks he can fix it all himself. Trouble looms on the horizon there.

I am beyond thrilled by reaction to the story and am grateful for your thoughts and shiny stars. Please continue to set me straight if I stray from the path and continue to enjoy the story.

Two days for Hank and Emmy to build their relationship, as well as to investigate the current case. Lots of time for clues to show up also. Enjoying the dialogue between them.

Yay, Emmy and Hank are going on a road trip! They might even meet Garth went they follow the trail. I hope our our courageous bartender, Sandy, will be safe! First Costello, and then a cop working for Costello.

Punctuation suggestions:
"Your - it's just some car thieves, Wyatt - (single quotes instead of hyphens) otherwise, it's confusing as to why Wyatt is talking to himself.

'Just stay calm (double quotes)

"Least you forget, (Lest)

    Good morning, Helen

That's what I get for second guessing myself...mistakes. I had it right, someone questioned me, and of course, I changed it instantly. Thank you for pointing everything out. I appreciate it very much.

As for the stars, your kindness always overwhelms me and leaves me feeling good inside. I am so lucky to have friends like you that have reconfirmed my abilities and left me smiling once again.

Hi Carol, this is a great continuation. The police seems to be in a bit of fangle. I wonder what will happen there. And now we see that Emmy is quite taken with Hank, so she'll go on the road trip with him. Great story. All best, Ulla :)))

Yes, the police have gotten in over their head... falling in "bed" with criminals and Emmy is being drawn closer to her new partner, Hank. I love deciding how their budding romance will bloom.

    Thanks so much - Carol
