It sounds like Deputy Tucker and Officer Smythe are going to be in big trouble as Crissy snoops out the story. Kudos to Brandi for finding the car.
Good book!

    Good day, Carol

Yes, Tucker and Smythe have gotten themselves into a tight spot... dealing with gangsters while working for law enforcements. Those little smudges are turning into bigger ones.

Hi Carol, something fishy is certainly going on, that is for sure. This is a great continuation. It's well written and it has a wonderful pace. Now I want to know what is going down. Ulla:)))

Thanks so much for following the story, Ulla.

I'm a bit under the weather, so I was afraid I might fall off track with the story, but am thrilled to see you enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

I hope Crissy immediately calls Garth again. He'll quickly figure out that this Deputy Tucker is not a good cop. I can't wait to read about him being in action again. Thank you for sharing.

I hope Crissy doesn't let her recently inflated confidence lead her down the wrong path after that story. She's left Garth pacing in Nashville and he's not a patient man. LOL

Great chapter, Carol! This is heating up quite nicely, and I've noticed the next chapter has been posted. I'm on my way to reading that one as well. best, JohnC

First: Sorry to read you are ill. Take those antibiotics and stay hydrated young lady!

Now, we ALL know you enough to realize Crissy isn't about to be shuffled off and lose a story!

Deputy Tucker sounds like a "deputy dog"--
And I can't wait until Garth knocks him down a few pegs!

Everybody loves the cowboy! He's not on his "trust stead" yet, but I believe he should be there soon... that is if Wyatt doesn't get to Crissy before she makes the call. Will the reporter in her make her start snooping before her 'cavalry" arrives?

Smythe's little favor appears to be much larger and country boy Wyatt is sweating it. Which of course he deserves to be.

And where the heck are Hank and Emmy? Ar Lance and Bennie in Trenton yet? So much to figure out...LOL

As for me, I did see a doctor (a miracle I guess) and I'm taking clindamycin HCI 300 mg... and my trusty ibuprofen which they frown on. Life moves forward! No worries for you my dear.

    Love ya, Carol

Oh no! It seems a cop on the wrong side of the law got to Crissy first. I hope Garth knows how to get a hold of her. I'm wondering about the timeframe of this story. I know this is when Emmy and Hank first met so I thought that was decades ago. Did they have Keurigs back then?

My sweet trusty researcher has put me back on the right track again and I thank you. The Keurig was 2003 and Mr. Coffee was 1972.I fixed it, I hope. Thanks for helping me out as always.

Glad Crissy has got into Garth, and hope she calls him back quickly. That deputy is up to no good - why was he even around in that lonely place? Will she be in strife for not dialling emergency services as a priority? Guess I 'lol have to wait and see .... Thank you for an excellent read.

Wyatt was making the early morning rounds when he stumbled on Crissy and the crash... but he instantly recognized the trouble he was in if this leaked.

Thanks for the kind review as always. Have a great day!

Yes, there is definitely something seriously wrong as about anyone could witness from all the bullet holes in the car, but that might only be a small part of it. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning.... I hope it all doesn't end with the bullet riddled car or what will I do with all these other ideas swirling around in my head. They are making me dizzy!!! LOL But that's probably not too difficult since I am a dizzy blonde. LOL

Thanks for the review. Hope you are doing okay?

Crissy was smart to contact the FBI agent, smarter than she knows as he may need to rescue her. Deputy Tucker is a real problem since he'd bent. Well-written and a good buildup of tension.

    Thanks, Carol
Crissy has found herself if a situation and has no idea how dangerous these men can be. she's escaped for the moment, but will her report instincts draw her back into the story?

    Glad you enjoyed!

Your descriptions are so clear I feel like I'm watching a movie. I an easily envision the empty road, the ravine, and Brandi racing up and down the hill. Crissy is going to stick her nose into something that could get it shot off. Suspense is still building. You are a master of mystery. Can't wait for the next chapter.
