Oh, Carol, that was a fast paced new chapter to your book. Crissy seems to go from one crisis to the other. I love the story. Now what. I feel she might be in grave danger. Ulla:)))

Yes, her situation is a hot plate at the moment.... because he inquisitive reporter mind probably won't let her continue her drive home and leave it to the law enforcement.

Well, I'm liking this story more and more, Carol. Crissy is a vibrant character with a combination of toughness and innocence. That's a great combination for a reader. Here are a couple of things I noted as I read along:

"Until stumbling onto an unsuspecting break, ..." [I believe it would be "unsuspected " break. Otherwise, it would be the "break" that wasn't expecting it, not Crissy.]

Blood still tainted the surrounding water red. [ Since you're talking about the color of the water, I think the word you intended is "tinted".]

These two minor oversights certainly don't detract from your fine chapter, Carol.

It's 5:30 AM and Jay Squires has made my day already. I am smiling and feeling very blessed that such a talented person would find my story to appealing. Thank you so much!

I have fixed my "oops" and as always I appreciate any time someone sees what this old lady did not.

A car and two people all bullet riddled and dead, yes, the car's dead too. The FBI will be showing up and as ineffectively late as always. But never fear, they always get their man, men, or otherwise, they say. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

There's so much more to this story to unfold but yes I did need to bring my FBI agent into the fold. I hope the story to tie him in was plausible to the reader. Thanks! Hope all is well with you!

    Good morning, Barbara
I couldn't wait to see your reaction to the cowboy's return. Unfortunately, I'm a bit under the weather and behind as usual. Just wondering if you approved of how the two chapters drew him into the action. Did it sound plausible?

Lots of action and very fast paced. The dialogue are credible and like in chapter 24, this one also ends with a bang. That's what makes stories a page turner!
Great job!!

First of all, I don't remember if I've already told you but I love the title of your book. Titles, in my opinion are extremely important.
As usual I have enjoyed your dialogues and your short paragraphs. For some reason, I don't like very long ones.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, Heather. I tend to keep the paragraphs short for several reasons. It gives the eyes a moment to catch up and the reader a quick breather before continuing (if any of that makes any sense). I for one tend to get lost when the writing goes on and on without a break. Ild age I guess.

OK, I'm lost. Is this a totally different story, or have we added a new characters? Whatever it is, you did a great job. This chapter is full of suspense and kept me reading to the last word. Have a great day. Shirley

Sorry to confuse you, Shirley. I decided having the cops, the gangsters, and Mason and Paddy chasing after Lance and Bennie was too much so I had to have them meet their demise. So many who are familiar with my other novels wanted the Cowboy - FBI agent Garth to return and I needed to somehow connect him to the crime...thus Crissy entered the picture. I hope that clears it up a little bit for you.

We've been dealing with the bad guys for a while. It is good to have Garth back on the scene. Chrissy is a new character in this story. I wonder if she will be a threat to Garth's and his partner's romance. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

If you remember...this novel is taking place before the time he met Allie so a fling might be possible. LOL One never knows as we travel the corridors of my mind. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Beth. Appreciate it!
