I think everyone should read your story. I have never heard such unpleasantness ever in an orphaned school. And to think no one stood up for you is beyond anyone's imagination.

Well, Brett, it's pretty obvious that you don't much care for Walmart. I have been into many and they all look alike, I'll grant you that.
So now I'm looking forward to see where this is going. I have an idea, but I'm not saying. Ulla:)))

I liked how you described scoping out your patsy. I guess this was before the cardboard sign that read will work for food. Very good view of the fight for survival. Trust no one. Great installment. I really enjoyed. Gretchen

I can't wait to see who your bullseye was. My third son, Andrew swears Walmart is a social experiment to see how long perfectly normal humans can be there before they turn into raving maniacs. He may be onto something.

". . .a mid-twenties mother with twin terrorizers still riding in the cart." Yes, sir, this sentence uses few words to make an unforgettable description. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Although I always appreciate your reviews did hold off on responding to this one until after today's oncology appointment. NO NEW TUMORS! The best news I could have gotten. Does not mean I can not still develop them, but for today, no new ones. Makes my birthday and Christmas all I could ask for.

I actually despise Walmart, and my husband thinks there is no other store. Sadly, WM has caused a loss that will never return. You did a great job, and I'm ready for the next chapter. Enjoy your day. Shirley

Did I miss a chapter? I don't remember how you got out of that House of Horrors. Neverthless, I enjoyed this chapter, and you described Walmart so well that even though I am not American I could visualize it perfectly, as seen through the eyes of the desperate boy. Looking forward to more.

So, Brett,
I gather you don't much care for Wal-Mart. I used to see the videos of the weirdos that hung around the aisles and it kind of freaked me out. When I moved to Wasilla though, and there was a Wal-Mart, I was pleased to see that most of the strange characters are elsewhere. I'm personally delighted to have them here. When I was fishing down in Hoonah this year, milk was $7.50 a half gallon, coffee was $22.00 for a can of Folgers, Kelloggs corn flakes was between $11.00 and $13.00 and a can of Campbells tomato soup was over $3.00. It was nice to go somewhere that has decent prices and a selection to boot. Interesting chapter, but I'm curious how you got out. I imagine anyway you could accomplish it would be great.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I do believe if you'd had to spend anymore time at the place you've have likely turned into a career criminal and maybe be serviing a life sentence by now..It does sound as if this place was doing much to turn kids in a better direction.
I glad you spared the granny. I'm wondering if you new target turns out to be the guy who adopted you. You didn't explain how you managed to escape again so soon. I would have thought they'd be watching you closer.
