Very interesting and informative without lecturing! The prose has a light touch so you take in facts painlessly. I am writing in Paris at the moment and I too love France and people's adherence to tradition.

Thank you Sarah for your kind words. I loved Paris and all of the museums. We were lucky enough to spend a semester in Bordeaux a few years ago. It was a wonderful time in my life.

Sarah, these five stars are for excellent writing. I would not know good wine from bad. There is no doubt your experiences made you an expert and what you like. A vivid story full of color and adventure. Excellent work. Terry.

Thank you Terry for your kind words. After climbing nearly straight up the vineyard, I didn't think I could come back down unless my eyes were closed. I don't like heights. That led to the winding road.

Sarah, that was delightful and very interesting.
Welcome to Texas! I hope you'll like it. You have lived so many interesting places, I'm envious. I was born and raised in Georgia, but have lived most of my life here in Texas and wouldn't live anywhere else. We are a self sufficient state and not happy with what's going on in this country.
Anyway, You wrote a wonderful piece and I enjoyed it.

Thanks, Katherine. I appreciate your kind words. We actually spent 4 years in Palestine, Texas in the mid 70's. We all loved that area, but my husband was transferred back to Tennessee. My sons loved being here. Yes, I am enjoying being here.

Excellent ending and lead-up to the end. This story about the French and American armies and how they gave their lives so that we could live free is impressive and entertaining as well. I hope you had a wonderful time while you were there. Thank you for sharing this inspiring piece with the beautiful poppies in full bloom in the French Alps.

Thanks, Jesse for your kind words. I always appreciate your comments. I ended up on the winding road because I don't like heights and I didn't think I could go back down the hill unless I could close my eyes!

I thoroughly enjoyed your travel tour of this Alsace wine country and village. I can easily visualize you threading your way up the slopes between the vines, roses, and peach trees. The short history lesson about WWII and Patton was interesting, too. Rod
For dummies like me who know little about French geography, you might explain in your Notes where Alsace is.

Thanks for your kind words. We had to come back down the road because I don't like heights. The vineyard was steep and I couldn't come unless I could close my eyes. I will add a notation about area of
France.Thanks

This was well written, and rich in Theme and Imagery.
It also, read well and Flowed well with No Grammar Issues.
The Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures Aligned most Perfectly.
