I really feel sad that anyone of you would have to go through such torment. I hope in time you got away and could experience or have some kind of a decent life. Prayers, although I am a little late for sure.

I am going backwards but getting a clearer view of this moving work. The account of this sadistic beating is shocking and painful to read! You would expect to find this in a Nineteenth novel like 'Oliver Twist'!

Tubbo really takes a perverse pleasure in these beatings. If the authorities only knew what was going on. No doubt he will find a way to get the boy back for more punishment. Ten strikes would certainly be a lot for the boy to endure. I have an idea he's going to think of some way to get revenge. Very intense. The emotion really comes through. judi

Hi Brett, this is a brilliant work of non fictional memoir. I'm so sorry it came to be like that. The more I read, the more I understand there was no regulatory body to review orphanages. It's actually criminal. Well at least in my book. Ulla:)))

Evil and hatred personified, in these cruel men. They were not trying to teach you to behave well, it was terrifying abuse for their own sadistic pleasure, and totally inexcusable. I hope you managed to escape again quickly. The fact that you survived such treatment indicates that you somehow got away. Horrific to think this occurred and probably still does in some places.

Evil and hatred personified, in these cruel men. They were not trying to teach you to behave well, it was terrifying abuse for their own sadistic pleasure, and totally inexcusable. I hope you managed to escape again quickly. The fact that you survived such treatment indicates that you somehow got away. Horrific to think this occurred and probably still does in some places.

I'm so sorry you were so abused when you were young. I would like to know the evil men who administered such punishment to the young men there finally received their comeuppance and suffered pain such as this in their future. What evil men! There is a warning in the bible about hurting children.
