Yes. I really liked my USMC one and had put a lot of effort into it. Was sure it would win. It didn't Put very little effort into my boot camp one and thought it would lose. Came in first. Just go with the flow!

How fun that your in-laws already chose you for their daughter-in-law! I loved the list of what makes grandparents especially wonderful and your children's list was great. I only wasn't sure about the "tick" as that must be British English and it brings to mind an insect instead of a checkmark. Lol. Best wishes in the contest!

How fun that your in-laws already chose you for their daughter-in-law! I loved the list of what makes grandparents especially wonderful and your children's list was great. What special memories you have. Good luck in the contest. It was interesting that you mention the Scottish heritage of the grandparents...their early ancestors were immigrants too. The courage it takes to start a new life may be in the genes. This was a lovely tribute, good luck in the contest.

A nice grandparent story. I was also favored with caring grandparents. I was over to my grandfather's house as much as I could. He was a great teacher.

Thank you for a fine review, greatly appreciated. Yes, I did write a different story about them another time, but that would be lovely to expand them into a set. (You and probably one other reviewer may be the only ones who have heard of them before, I think). Yes, there are lots more details, for sure.

These were the only grandparents who wanted to be involved unfortunately, although the others lived far away. But yes, these two were a blessing and wonderful role models. Many thanks for your lovely review.

Yes. I never knew my dad's father and only knew his mother for a few years. My mother's parents lived nearby and I saw them often. It was great to grow up as a part of an extended family.
