This is one of the mysteries that you are so good about squeezing into each new chapter. How can the grandfather be so evil and so good at the same time. I guess time will tell. I will enjoy each chapter.

This is another excellent chapter. I read the next one before this one. It makes more sense now. The hook at the end is great. I do not see any need for improvement.

I like this chapter, Carol. You've developed the character of Cooper O'Hara well, and showed his sincere change of heart. It will be interesting to learn more about this family, and the jewels. Well done.

Cooper had turned his back on the family, except for his mother. Now he is learning how much he wasted and how life is not all black and white.

A well-written chapter, with lots of background information presented through Cooper's thoughts and his few words. The presence of all these people raises many questions, which I'm sure you'll address as your book progresses. Blessings & hugs. Carol

I'm so glad Cooper recognizes the honesty and loyalty those men had for his father. Not everyone is a scrounger. These men so openly admired Cooper's father. I hope he'll be able to help them. Another amazing chapter, my friend. Well done. Love and hug, Sandra xxxxx

As Cooper learns more down the line, I think he will be surprised at how much these men meant to his grandfather too.

    Thank you for enjoying!

Cooper is about to find out it will not be as easy as he thought to dismiss the men seated around the table. "The men and I are not here because of a sense of duty." I think Cooper will soon find out why the men ARE there, as the mystery continues to build.

Well, this is a surprise chapter, Carol. The men are not what he expected them to be and they don't seem to have no ill feelings against him. So who are they? A very good question indeed. Ulla:)))

Hello, Ulla... Thank you so much for continuing to read my new adventure. I appreciate it very much. I haven't forgotten your incredible story. I don't want to jump in since I have missed so much. I started reading Barbara's from the beginning again, and when I finish, that's my plan for you too. It's not about the money...it's about the story.

Thanks again. Smiles and hugs, Carol

It certainly is a mystery isn't it. Where did the money come from. How could he have been so wrong about his Grandfather. He was not as bad as Cooper thought he was. The men were not the thugs he thought they were. What is happening here?Well done! Nancy:)

Aw, see? In typical Carol fashion you've got me caring about Cooper and worried about what I suspect are many different facets of his Grandfather...

Revelations, good and bad will test his mettle!

Write on! I'm following!

    Good morning, sweetie

I think the Grandfather go wrapped up in the whirlwind of the Costello family, but Andrew and the band of me brought him back to a better place. Or at least that's what I would like to think. LOL

Have a great day... I'm blessed to be here and writing again.

Oh, this is very interesting! A new development in Cooper. Perhaps now that he knows that the bond between his grandfather and the people who worked for him, he may want to keep on the family business??
