This is a good poem that shows how loving dogs are and how hard good owners work to keep their dogs comfortable while alive. You did well it making the poem from the dog's perspective.

It's so traumatic to lose a pet. But I believe all good life God created, will be in Heaven for us.

What a great way to remember your little girl. They are family!
I've never experienced anything like they way dogs and their humans have such a loving bond.
Perhaps it's because their time with us is so short that we adore them. I know that's how I've felt with all the dogs who've given my family so much love.

This is a beautiful, heartfelt poem about a pet who was really a member of the family. The contest prompt rules said the entries should be rhyming poetry. However, your poem so adequately expresses Angel's love and devotion, and has a happy ending with Angel watching over you and enjoying her new surroundings. Best wishes in the contest..

I am so sorry for your loss. I know all too well how grief feels, and yes, our pets are family.
This was excruciatingly beautiful. I still grieve every one of my dogs and cats -- the last dog was many years ago now, but my precious Prissy was January of this year.
