I think I can guess who's the owner of the fist that slammed into Cordero's face, but it makes for a dandy cliffhanger.

A couple of observations, one obvious!

he softly kissed her and then the kiss changed with a slow graduation of intensity. [That's what I'm talkin' about! LOL]

she clung to him as the only solid in a swaying room. [I wondered as I read this whether you are using "solid" as a noun or an adjective? If an adjective then you need a noun, like "object".]

One more good chapter awaits us next week?

Jay

This is the first chapter that I've read so I'm obviously missing quite a bit of background. Nonetheless, it was easy to follow. The dialogue had an easy flow to it and I like how you allowed the dialogue to carry the story. Well done. I may need to stick around to find out who punched Cordero. Which reminds me. Good work ending the chapter on a cliff hanger.

I've been told that mentioning coffee is a crowd pleaser: "The coffee smells good." Along with the tingling still staying with her so are the readers. This makes it suspenseful: "Someone grabbed Cordero's shoulder, as he turned a fist met the right side of his face."

Not good news that Alan's been following them. He just doesn't get the message. Ali and Cord have thought of such interesting things to do while in the Big Apple. The breakfast in the park sounds like a great idea. Oh, no! Alan shows up at the end. He has indeed been following them. He is a sick-o. Ali couldn't have been clearer that their relationship is over. He took Cord unawares, or Cord would probably have landed some bunches. I see Ali deciding to settle down in Texas. She has the promise of a career more to her liking there. judi

That's the way to finish off an episode Barbara, Cordero being hit by a fist, a little cowardly however, it sounds like a person who has few ideals. But it certainly looks like Cord's got some enemies in New York as well as home, Cord and Alex are now officially attracted to one another. Beautifully written Barbara, blessings Roy
Typo : she doesn't weigh(t) that much.

Wow! I should have figured the ex would be following them. I hope there is some backup nearby. This was a good chapter, as usual. Can't find any spags, nothing needs changing.

Well written chapter. 2/3rds finished. Where did the the time go. I supposed she is staying in NY, because of the rape and child support cases she started, and need to win. Also, Cord too I guess.

Those cases are in Texas. The time has been long. I can't figure out how to make it shorter. A complete novel is over 80,000 words and I only post once a week. I wish I could come up with a better way to get it over faster. I really can't post longer chapters. Anyway, not your problem. Thank you for the kind review.

You have brought Griffin back with a vengeance at a critical moment. You leave us wondering all week whether they'll make that plane or not. Depends, amongst other things, on where exactly Anthony is I guess. Tricky one. Kate xx

Oh no! What a way to end a chapter. You are quite good at the surprise endings. Now I will be stewing all week waiting to see what is going to happen next. I am quite sure that a certain someone is in line for a good ole Texas style butt whipping. Wipe the floor, grass, or ground with him Cord!
