What a great story! And that you "lovecicled" fifty miles to see the girl who had captured your young teen heart and mind is quite impressive! Glad you were able to connect with her on Facebook!
Best wishes in the contest!

When she told me how she wished she'd had gone to the dance with me, it took me back those 40 or so years at the time we re-connected. Thank you for your very nice review.

Oh my goodness, such a beautiful story and it melted my heart. I love it, first of all, because it is a love story. I love stories that tug at the heart string and I'm a 'Hallmark' chick, lol. But, I think I got a little confused in the end. Did they get together or did she marry another guy? If she married someone else, it breaks my heart because I truly wanted them to be together in the end. I love this story also because that man did everything in his power to be with the woman he loved. Life don't always turn out like we want it to. ð???

You're precious. She married another man but had regretted not going to the 'dance'. Thanks so much for your very nice review.

Hello Author,
Well, talk about disappointment! When we're young, we haven't got enough experience to realize that things don't always go as desired. Throw in an infatuation, and our brains really get scrambled. I admire your determination. Wow, fifty miles. You had it bad for this gal. Well done. Thanks for sharing your story.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

I enjoyed your story because of the time frame and the fact I live 25 minutes from Naperville. It was fun to meet Di and read about your bike hike. But I get confused when you talk about the Facebook entry (present day) and then shift back in time. May I suggest writing the whole story chronologically?
Incidentally, I saw Quinn Buckner that year play in my school's gym shortly before the state tournament.

Well, that was my way of indicating that Di did not accept my invitation. I played b-ball for Benet Academy. Appreciate the read.

The suggestion made sense. I decided to incorporate it.
