In the ultimate game

Hello Wendy,
You've asked a good question- who wins? We all have to answer to our own selves I suppose if we're honest. There are some who have cheated for so long that I believe their conscience is seared and they can no longer determine what is right or wrong. Ultimately they are the losers. The scriptures ask, what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? It should be a sobering thought for all of us. Thanks so much for sharing this timely post.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Thank you Tom. Yes you are right. They no longer notice that they have lost their integrity when they win by not playing fair. There is no kudos in being a winner in such a situation, and they can?t by-pass God?s searching eyes. Glad you enjoyed it.
    Wendy.

I have always taught my Grandchildren to play the game fairly and you only win when you obey the rules. The trouble is they see others breaking the rules and getting away with it and think it is unfair, but deep down we know if we have cheated and know that the win was undeserving. A poignant write Wendy, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. My thoughts exactly. A winner without integrity is not a winner.

Good poem for the contest. A nice way to reach the perspective of God which is often a mystery and beyond our comprehension. Well done. Hope all is well with you.

Correct sylablle count, formatting and good presentation. In UK English, there is a double meaning to this, as we say 'God knows' to mean 'who knows?' Do you also have that connotation? Kate xx

Yes, we do, and I wanted it left open. Some people try to win at any cost, appear to be winners and get accolades here, but in the end, who knows? Thanks, Kate, for reviewing.

Truth be told he likely knew before we came to be and yet he decided, go, give life a try and report back after your through to see if you kept your word to Choose the right, for if not, there will be consequences.

Thanks Tom. Winning at any cost, as some try to do, by making their own rules, or bending rules, does not make one a winner. Lots of applications to society, nations, politics, individuals ?.

Good luck in the 2-4-2 poetry contest. Yes, only god knows how life's game is won. He is on our side and I believe we are the winners, give and take, we can make it mate. K xx

Certainly we don't make the rules. We muddle through not really knowing what the aim ofbitcall is. Goals, wickets, home runs win some lose done. That's the way it goes. I think God is the umpire, referee, touch judge and linesman all rolled into one.

Being a "winner" in this life, but without integrity, by making one?s own rules or by breaking rules, is no measure of success, whether for individuals, societies or nations. Yes, I guess He is all those in one! Thanks for your thoughtful review.

That's as correct as it is succinct! But we can know when we're on the winning side! I guess that's what you mean by making your own rules-choosing the right path. I hope you win the contest!

Thank you Verna. This one is open to a lot of interpretations. You are right too. Yet, success in this life by making or bending rules is not necessarily being a winner, as God knows and judges the heart. The first shall be last and the last first. Sometimes things are not as they seem.

Wendy, This is a great 2-4-2 poem you have penned for the contest. You used very good and very true words. Very good imagery to go with your words. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

This poem is so true. I wonder who God would say the winner or loser is when there is an ultimate game of life? Would He say there is no winner because it was a tie? The winner or loser each wants to go to heaven.

True. Thanks for reviewing. So many try to become " winners" by making their own rules or bending them. Lack of integrity in the end.
