That's the magic we all need to share with our grandchildren and in my case great-grandchildren. What a wonderfully written story. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

This is a nice little story of childhood experiences being passed on from father to son and it was interesting that you told part of it from the stuffed animal's point of view. We get the uncertainty of the change that happens when someone grows up, leaves their magic childhood stuffed animals behind. Stitches is a great symbol of that childhood experience. I thought the opening scene with the grandmother sewing him up and imparting the magic to the boy was wonderful. Nice realistic dialogue brought us right into the moment. estory

I love the inspiration for this story, there is something for be said for sentimentality.
I appreciate the way your creatively peppered it throughout.
If I had six stars left they would be yours, my friend.
The theme was engaging and the characters were well developed.
Your writing of dialogue is very realistic and easy to read.
It has an easiness that creates a smooth flow.
Your phraseology, and sensory details are excellent!
Thanks for sharing!

Wow. I loved the pattern to this story. The way Silk stitches was put in the forefront while they were young only to be something that was a memory. This was nostalgic and gave me the warm fuzziness. I thoroughly enjoyed l it. Gretchen

Aw, John, this brought a wee tear to my eye. Nothing is better than old memories of childhood and traditions to pass on to new generations. I loved the personification of Silk Stitches.
I also like that you're now guarding some of the soft toys your boys slept with the as children. Ulla:)))

John, this is an outstanding fiction story. There is no doubt about your ability to write good fiction. I also like your note, which proves you drew upon which you know. Keep it with Froggy and Snort, for it too may someday pass on down. Outstanding work. Terry.

About all I can say is, WOW! Writing fiction is about imagination, but few have the special touch and insight to bring a pillow or stuffed animal to life in readers' minds. But you certainly do, my friend! Thanks for sharing.

Comment from Tpa
This was a very heartwarming story. I thought how it expressed first the relationship between a boy and his grandmother. You made that story evolved and gave the pillow its center stage for a new beginning.

Thank you, Tpa, for reading my work and responding with six stars. I visited your portfolio and read "Lady," your 150 flash first-place win. I thought it was sensational. I'd like to jump on your FAN wagon if you don't mind. Best, JohnC

Comment from Mary Vigasin
What a delightful and charming story rich in imagination and detail. You took the gift of a magic stuffed animal, Stitches, to a young boy, to his adulthood, and then passed Stitches on to his son.
I could not review this without giving you six stars for the delight and fun of reading about Stitches.
Best regards,
Mary
