Because of current time pressures, though I read short posts, I rarely review them; but I'm making an exception for this little gem of wisdom.

The meaning here is that acts of love validate words of love by intent, as promising words are untrustworthy without corresponding acts.

Thus, the word "adjuvant" by its general definition of "complementary" is perfect in this context.

Unfortunately, few people know this word, and even fewer know its general definition, especially since Google gives the medical definition instead, consequently causing confusion.

I consider this to be the most concise expression of its wise message.

Superb.

Thank you so much for taking the time to see and understand the architecture and effect of the poem through the choice of placement, vocabulary, and directional read of the poem. It was not one hastily thrown together with lack of knowledge of the vocabulary contained within. I was pretty down about its reviews and you and a couple of others took the time with it. That proves to me it is meaningful to others, which is always the desired outcome.

    We write to relate.

    Thanks again.

You are most welcome, Tara. You are very bright and creative, which comes with the potential to go over the heads of some readers. As you see, though, other readers will understand and enjoy the quality of your efforts. No writer can please all readers, but the ones who like what you do will keep coming back for more. I'm one of them.

You are again welcome. :)) -- Mike

Yes, I did google it and got the medical definition in the context of chemo drugs. Lol. Great that you added your notes.
Yes, love has to be mutually adding both with words and acts that show love. Best wishes in the contest!

I don't know if (adjuvant) is the word you should be looking for here.
Adjuvant = applied after initial treatment for cancer, especially to suppress secondary tumor formation.
Or = a substance that enhances the body's immune response to an antigen.

It sounds like you are wanting some sort of protection from love.

That is the medical definition. Webster definition applicable to usage is as follows:
    adjuvant adjective ad·ju·vant " ˈa-jə-vənt 1: serving to aid or contribute :
My intent was to express the design of both words and acts as complementing each other with acts aiding the words to express love. Thank you for your review.

A neat summary of the persuasion we pursue, convincing our partner to engage with us!
Think this is an ancient device, even better when mixing gestures and facial expressions with soothing, encouraging words.
Yeah, and I had to look up 'Adjuvant.'

Nice color and font. I had to look up adjuvant and I'm still unclear, which makes this awesome! I didn't take on the 2 5 2 because it seems quite difficult to make a point in such a short amount of words, but you pulled it off. Keep up the good work!

Yes, adjuvant is not a very common word. I'm in healthcare and it is a term used with some frequency. It basically means supporting or complementing. Don't base your understanding on the medical definition. It says something about a tumor!
Thanks for the comments and review. The short ones like this are really tough and you either nail it or miss it entirely it seems. I've spent 2 days before trying to find the perfect word with the perfect amount of syllables.thanks again!

An interesting poem. The syllable count is correct. The message is clear. The language is classy.

Suggestion:

The second line might read better as:
an adjuvant to (or for)
Adjuvant design does not tell us what they are enhancing
you might even think of
just adjuvant to
Also note that adjuvant is an adjective. So an adjuvant design would be a design enhancing the main design.

Thanks for a good read.

Love stands on its own. And, when companioned with a balance of words and actions there is an enhancement to the quality and quantity of love rendered. And, in this balance, this design, there lies a great non-tangible and incomprehensive power that few ever experience. Words can be so empty. But when the words are followed by action, and all is symbiotic with love there comes a balance that is good and healthy for both the giver and the receiver. I'm glad you understood, it's a deep concept, and I probably just fell short on conveyance. Thanks for reading and commenting!
I actually had about 10 different middle lines that I considered, and in 5 syllables this was the best I could to do to try to convey the entire idea.

Well done, I didn't know what adjuvant was, but was wondering how it fitted with love, a suppressant for secondary tumours, but it probably escaped me, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

    Hey Roy,
In the poem, Adjuvant means in non-medical terminogy to basically help facilitate or assist. Not the technicalities with the medical term in this one. :) Hope it makes better sense now.
