What a funny poem about menopause. For me it came and went without much fuss. I just keep doing exercise. What kind of anti-wrinkle cream do you use? I only have some wrinkles under my eyes. But all creams I used are useless.

Thank you so much Jasmine, lol, we certainly all were given different symptoms of this event in our life, but what most can agree is that they are not pleasant. But for me, because there's not much we can do about it, those are the things that help me to laugh about. While trying to prove that those dwarfs were not us, I confirmed that they were. And that was the fun that I had with it. I don't use much for creams but they haven't been a big problem for me yet. I'm sure that will be right around the corner.

Thank you so much Wendy,, For me, because when there's not much we can do about it anyway, those are the things that help me to find a way to lighten it up with laughter.. While trying to prove that those dwarfs were not us, I confirmed that they were. And that was the fun that I had with it.

What an ordeal women have to go through. I speak from experience though, the husband goes through it with her unless he is one of those totally absent husbands, which I am not. It wasn't fun for her and it sure as heck was not a thrill for me either. I am just glad it is all over.

Awe, thank you Gary! I agree that men do put up with some of those things. I'm so glad you are such a supportive guy. My husband once said that the hot flashes couldn't be that bad, and I told him.... never mind. hehe
This was a fun poem to write, as I condemned the way they portrayed us, yet everything I said in my poem confirmed that they were only a slight exaggeration. Btw; I do talk to myself sometimes, but I usually try to listen, because I always know it will be an interesting conversation. Lol!

It sounds like the symptoms of the menopause are ruling life in this poem, I enjoyed your rhymes and and flow and your metre is slightly uneven in parts, the word (over) interrupts the metre here in line 8. I loved the sentiments here and the humour, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly, thank you for catching line 8 as I was so sure the my meter was spot on, but that was off but is the only one I could see. Unless you mean my last 2 lines which were purposely off a little to kind of make a statement? I appreciate your opinions and have great respect for your writing, so that is why I love any feedback you share with me.

Oh Helen, you are so cute and funny. I love your reviews as they are always kind and thoughtful, but this one was special to have a little fun together.

And I truly appreciate your feedback so much, but my not using a question mark was on purpose. I am on the fence on what to do. I only use commas now to help keep the rhythm of each line. (Before I was a comma queen)
But I have been scolded a few times by people that tell me if I am going to use a ?, then I should also use periods at the end of my sentences.
And I was scolded for those in the past, even tho my college writing professor would have a heart attack if he saw the way it is now a days.
However I trust and respect you and your writing skills so much that I am going to put the '?' in, and not worry about the scolding. But I think i will leave the (periods) to those who have not yet gone through menopause. hehe!

My second suggestion was for the rhythm and that it should be "threatens" but that would be too long so that's why I suggested the change. You have my vote!
