Those days fly by, don't they? As a child, time seemed so slow. As an adult, time seems to speed up year after year. Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest.

Oh yes, those precious growing up years just seem to fly by and then adults appear -'Where goes the days?' - even though at times we may struggle through those times

I agree with the words of your short poem. Like the words in the song, Sunrise, Sunset, from the musical, Fiddler on the Roof, "I don't remember growing older. When did they?" Your poem says it so eloquently, "Where goes the days." Your artwork pairs perfectly. Best wishes in the contest.

Dear Mystery Poet,

I totally agree. Looking at my own children these days I cannot figure out -- for the life of me! -- how they can be so old! My first daughter is thirty-five!! Which actually isn't feasibly possible since I'm only barely in my forties! Well, I feel like that anyway. *smile*

You have the perfect word count and a fun message - the only note I have for you to consider is:
--> Where goes the days
--> should be 'Where (go) the days'

Thanks and good luck!

    Thanks for the review and correction, Robyn. I recently saw my family for the first time in seven years, kids that were kids are kids no more!

This is a well-conceived short poem. The font is a great size. The text message is relatable to most parents. The alliteration at the end is good. I would make the background a more vibrant color because this is a poem about the vibrant and quick growth of children. Gray is too staid. The visual is perfect. You have a great entry for the contest. Good luck.

    Thanks for your review and background suggestion, I really was not happy with that to be honest. Will be changed.

I just had lunch with my nieces and nephew, and I thought something along these lines. They really do grow up "way too soon." Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

    I recently saw my nieces and nephews for the first time in seven years. Kids back then, now adults, driving and finishing school. Scary thought.
