Once again I have not been on for a few days, so have a lot of messages to catch up on. Great poem, Roy. When I look back on my childhood, I often wonder why God chose our family from our little village to save. But I am so glad He did.

Christ has chosen each and every one of us, it is just up to us to acknowledge being chosen.
Great poem Roy. I especially liked the following sentence.
"yet I served sin in raging youth."

I like to believe everyone is given a chance to be saved. I don't know but the scripture that "many are called but few are chosen" confused me just a bit. I would like to think "all are called but few choose"

I?m afraid I can?t change the scripture Beth, it seems to me that some refuse to even entertain a spark of God?s existence, maybe I am naive Beth, but I believe everyone is welcome, the scripture in Roman?s 1:20 says, "You are without excuse o man, His invisible quality declares the glory of God" thanks for the great review, blessings Roy

Lovely poem Roy, and I do like the format you chose for this one, as it gives emphasis to your words. I also like the parallel between the sun and the Son. Well and thoughtfully composed.

Hi, Roy. I'm behind as always...
I loved your poem but for the life of me could not figure out why you put in this bit about circumcision!
"Romans 2:29, NIV: No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God."
I needed a little remedial help on that one not being as attune to the bible as I ought to be! (I called my cousin, a Pastor, who helped me understand it)
See? You teach even when you inspire curiosity!

SO TRUE.
I have no idea why He chose me, either. I'm not sure I would have. Not fun to admit, but trye. But I'll be eternally grateful that He chose to shine on me and allow me to be a part of Him.
Thank you for this beauty.
Blessings,
Deb

I was impressed how you used the sun and the Son as shining light onto the world. Yes, they both do. God chose us even before we were born. He already knew who would follow Him and who would reject Him and who would eventually return. He loves all of us.

What a fantastic picture, Roy. You are absolutely correct, Christ the Son is the light just as the sun. I agree that we are blessed to see that light of the sun each day until our last. Blessings.
