Well done author. You captured both the joy and excitement of seeing the one you wanted to marry, and the shock and sorrow of rejection. It would be the ultimate blow. No doubt it took a long time to get over. After such an experience, it would be hard to step out and try again. Good luck in the contest.

This is a sad story with a happy ending. I will call this Free verse, but it really does read more like prose. Something to think about, if you want.

I will stick with free verse. I believe it has some aspects of poetry. Thanks for the read and feedback.
