Excellent entry for the From Beginning to End writing prompt contest.

What a romantic story, I'm happy for you.

Good luck in the contest.

A good beginning to ending entry. Reminds me of the old saying "All good things are worth waiting for." Your entry reads more like a poem than an essay. The font selected looks like regular handwriting, so it fits well with the personal mood of your piece. The visual fits well. Wish you luck in the contest.

I liked the story from the start. Rather mundane, boy meets girl and so on. But told in a rhythmic, poetic fashion. I caught all the rhymes thrown in between the lines. What cinched the whole thing was the very last line, "I am right, aren't I dear?" Sounds like you have been married for years already. Get used to saying that one little phrase. Make sure Mama agrees.

Very good, and very entertaining read.

Enjoyed your rhyming story and voted for it in the contest over all the others. Funny how we always have to check to make sure we are right with the one who is really in charge.

You have done a marvelous job with the writing prompt. It is a complete story from beginning to end. I enjoyed reading the story and didn't spot any obvious errors. I wish you tons of luck in the contest.

Love was worth the wait - a very long wait indeed! An engaging short story, and well written in poetic format. Sending best wishes for your entry in the contest.

My profile warns of my being romantical, and I did it again, seconds ago, satirically with "The He and She of Things." Did you get your computer fixed. Thanks for being patient and reading me.
???? Why are some contests set to end in Jun of '23 or whatever?

    Thought it was you, lol.
No my computer still isn?t fixed. Have to wait for my son to have a bit of spare time, and that could be a while ?.

Great job! I love the font choice, it makes it feel handwritten, which really adds to the piece. Thank you for sharing this beautiful work, it is truly well done.

Fascinating. Very nice story about perseverance and patience. I found the writing fascinating. The internal rhymes gave it a feel of a poem with stanzas, but a second read makes it feel like prose with paragraphs. Almost a hybrid. Very nice

It was and is a poem on a different page but I created a poem contest earlier this week so I adapted it to be a short story contest. Thank you.
reply by Susan Newell on 16-Sep-2022
That explains it. Nevertheless, it was quite enjoyable with all the internal rhymes.
