Hello Margaret,

Delightful poem about losing the one you love. We all have lost someone. I grieved for five years when I lost my husband. Your poem has beautiful imagery and presentation. Wonderful alliteration.

Gypsy hugs

Each day is certainly a gift Margaret. I endeavour to write tributes to loved ones of deceased friends, because, after all we owe our gifts to others, we must spend what God gave us, a beautifully written sonnet my friend, a great gift, smooth, articulate, compassionate, and precise rhyming and language, well dine, blessings Roy

It took me a half hour to stop crying long enough to finish reading this. I had someone on my mind the whole time I was reading it, and you know who that is.
I pray that is not where your mind was, yet I know you so well that I know as the end of the month gets closer, you must have a million feelings bottled up in that big heart of yours. This is so beautiful that it doesn't seem possible that you were writing from what you thought another was going through. Yet your amazing talent tells me that your heart is big enough to have it go in many directions. I love it and I didn't, but you know what I mean. It is beautiful, so well written that it may be one of the best free verse I have read in a very long time. Completely six star worthy my sotu!

Hi Debi, I know what you mean about crying. I don't think that my cousin's wife would be ready for this poem yet. I'll save it for a while and then send her a copy. When I send it to her, I will make a temporary change and replace Love with "George," a one-syllable word so it will still work in this Blank Verse. I'm very good at recognizing the pain in others, perhaps because I've had my share as well. Remember, I am a watcher of people. Thank you for your outstanding review and for sharing your thoughts. I should have given a "heads up" on this one or at least suggested that a tissue might be necessary. Xo. M

Remember that I too am a people watcher, a great judge of character and can feel the pain of people I love. Your right, after losing so many precious people that gives us an edge. I also feel what's been in the heart of my little twin sister for a long time now. These words sound like what my heart felt like when Glen barely survived those blood clots.

Author,
Your exceptional poem gives the reader hope. I've grieved before; yet there's always some sunshine that comes my way.
Nice rhymes and images and hope in the last line.
Very nice.
Blessings,
Cindy

I think this is a relatable verse to all because whether
you have lost a loved one and they have passed on,
but this also represents those that have broken up or
suffer from the consequences of divorce.

I appreciate the presentation as it mirrors the sentiment
expressed.

The formatting is well done. Structurally, it leads the reader,
from sadness, and loneliness to a brighter tomorrow.

Your words are inspirational to those who need to read them.

Hello KLR, thank you for your beautiful and heartfelt review which is most appreciated, and it means a lot to me. I especially liked,
"but this also represents those that have broken up or
suffer from the consequences of divorce." K, I know that I accomplished what I wanted because I wanted this poem to reach many people. There are many types of losses. Families are estranged from each other for various reasons, divorces, deaths, best friends break up too. Our world is filled with pain. Thank you for recognizes that aspect of my poem. I truly appreciate the time spent. LateBloomer

A lovely poem about the loss of a loved one, which many here can relate to. I like the descriptions you used of the long and silent night and the blush of day. Your closing couplet reflects strength and hope. Blessings.

What a lovely poem you've written for your cousin's widow, and indeed for anyone who's lost a loved one. It's not only the nighttime, it's all through the day, too. We must cherish the time we had with the loved one and accept it. It's hard to do.

This was a lovely piece of poetry. The night time is so silent that the memories and feelings of loss seem to scream. It's when the distractions of the day calm allowing the melancholy heart to break once more. Beautiful uplifting end.
