Paragraph One makes the reader wonder why you are banned from using the elevator.

There was nothing inappropriate about your response "Well, at least you're wearing sweatpants!"

Sounds like Bobby and Leah both need to find something a little constructive to do with their time than ban you from using an elevator.

Giving you the hand proved her classlessness.

"Sanctimonious" a good word to describe Bobby and Leah.

Oh, now I have to stand up for my beloved family here. They were just trying to save all of us from embarrassment. I'm thinking a more socially acceptable- comment than, "At least you're wearing sweatpants" could have been, "Ohhh!!" and then a smile. And the handsome older man? Oy! I should have stopped there at "Good Morning!"

Thank you for defending me; I do appreciate your chivalry. But I don't think I'm entitled to it.

The commentary on your dialogue with the other elevator riders, strangers in fact, reveals much about your personality. You obviously have a sense of humor that is a bit unique and others find difficult to understand. I thought it was pretty funny, and it was all the details of how the men were dressed, the lady with the oversize garbage bag in the sweat pants, that made the vignettes in the elevator come alive, along with all the personality in the dialogue. Nice job. estory

Hahahahahaha! I've never read anything so funny. This was unique, well-written, and darn entertaining. You remind me of my sister. She is very sociable. She has a comment for everyone around her weather she knows them or not.

Hahaha! This was perfect and so relatable. I'm not taking sides with your family, Rachelle, but I'd have to agree that the stairs would be a better form of transport for you after reading this. Thank you for the chuckle! Best, JohnC

Well-written. This piece had me smiling the whole way through. There is a certain understanding of being socially awkward that becomes pretty hard to grasp until someone points it out. Going forward, I might have to ban myself from elevators!

Oh, let me give you my family's number; they'll be happy to help, what with all their experience and whatnot!!

Thanks for the understanding review!! xo

Haha! I have been there. My friends are completely prohibited from asking my family for stories.

I'm sanguine too, however, you have taken friendliness to a whole new floor! I loved this, and laughed so hard! Actually, my personality completely changes on an elevator because I usually expect it to plunge to the basement. There needs to be sufficient air circulation and better music. Just saying....

Sending you my best for this delightful chapter.

HAHAHAHA!! But, Sally, my mindless chatter could take your mind right off all that!!

Thanks for a very fun review!! I loved it. xo

You have such a fun personality and humorous outlook. You add great balance here on FanStory, as we certainly have our share of heavy, mind-numbing poetry and prose. Always a pleasure, my dear. Blessings,

Terrific write!!

This is well conceived, crafted, and realized.

Your descriptive writing paints a clear picture for the reader to view and become part of the story.

The sensory details add a layer of dimension to the story which further
engages the reader throughout.

What a humorous story, I can see why you have a stairs only status:)

Well done!

Yeah, it was that or get ostracized from the building.

This is very amusing and I'm sitting here with a goofy smile on my face. It is so nice that you talk to people, they just seem to take your pleasure in their company all wrong. Keep on bringing joy (or maybe embarrassment) to their lives.

Your humor is great, and this is a fun read. I took the elevator to the 8th floor of the hospital where my husband took up residence last week. One passenger had me in stitches, but most were silent. Once my whole third-grade class squeezed into one elevator car when we were on a field trip. That made so many people laugh when we exited. Enjoyed your story! Thanks for the laughs -- I needed them today.

HAHAHA!! That must have been hysterical!!

I've found that the reviews from our other teachers on here are the same way we are in elevators: like, when is there NOT a great time to interact with others??! I so seriously just don't get it.

Thanks for the very fun review. xo

You're terrible, Rachelle, Lol, I'm sorry, but I have to agree with Bobby and Leah. My mum was like that, so I can sympathise with them. I'll have to write some of them down, I'm sure my sons would like to read them. You really are funny, but in a nice way! Lol.

I'm going to have to leave our chat until next week. I'm having my hair done in town on Thursday, and having another vaccination on Friday, and I've been told by friends it's not nice. (I have lovely friends, lol)

And tomorrow I am having our neighbours dog for the day, so weather providing, we'll be taking her out on long walks. That is to prepare her for when she stays for the week starting this Sunday evening. That'll be fun.

Speak to you next week. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Oh my! You have quite the varied itinerary! You were smart, though, to sandwich the nasty part between two fun activities. I hope the dog is on his/her best behavior during his time with you!!

Look forward to our chat time whenever it happens. It's always such fun and a highlight. xoxo

PS - You're right to feel compassion for Leah and Bobby. It was a tough stint for them in that apartment!! We have a house now, though, so no more embarrassing elevator rides. (I've found new and creative to inflict humiliation!! I feel it's my job as a Jewish wife and mother...)

Lol, Of course it's your job!! I'm the same with my two sons, mind you, some of the things they've done to me would embarrass the life out of you, bless their cotton sock. I have to be careful how I embarrass them now, they have no respect for my age!!!! Lol.
I've posed a question to my followers about the next book I'm going to write after getting so many asking me to write another book with Mildred in, and now a lot want me to write another with Bessie in, from the book I've just finished. I think you read the time travel one with Mildred, but you were too late to catch Bessie's in , The Return. So, if you want to join the debate, check out my question in, Bessie and Mildred still on until tomorrow. Talk to you next week, defo!! xxx

I have a house closing to oversee on Friday, but after that, I'll have some extra time and will check that out, for sure! Thanks for the head's up!

And, btw, CONGRATULATIONS on your latest BOTM win. You are the bragging point in my life. "Do you know the wonderful and prolific author Sandra Stoner Mitchell? She's my friend. She knows me. She likes me. She thinks I'm nice. She talks to me often and everything." xoxoxo
