Ciao Marco,
despite the negative rap bats got due to covid , unlike most, I find bats cute.
Crop farmers love them because they offer a significant help in keeping the insect populations in check !
Seeing they locate their food via sonar, moonbeams are not essential...actually, I read a while back that some bats even avoid hunting on full moon nights.
I still love the picture your words bring to life.
Often in summer my father and I would enjoy sunset and watch tiny bats dart to and fro at twilight.
Happy memories.
Keep safe!

Mark, you set the scene well in this haiku with your focus on the moonbeams, trees and bats while also creating atmosphere with your deft use of alliteration. You certainly capture the essence of that beautiful work of art. Rod

All these creatures have to eat and it sounds like a great night for the bats here, but they are blind so they don't need a crystal clear night, and the beetles have no where to hide, a fun post Mark, love Dolly x

Dolly,
As always, thank you for your reviews of my short poem style.
Their true vision is their sonar. Bats consume a lot of insects on their nightly forays.
