Another interesting chapter. Looks like Ali's parents are happy with her relationship with Cord. I like the part where he was confident enough to question Ali about why she hadn't invited him, and I like his statement,
"Next time when something comes up, please let me make the choice if I'll attend. If your well-being's in question, I'll always say yes. Will you do that for me?"

This chapter looks like it's setting up the next, which you often seem to do. The two of them in her apartment together overnight is going to raise some eyebrows, and especially the fiance. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Whew! It's good that Cordero is going with Alexandra as a protective measure against Griffin. And it seems they like each other so the time together will give them time to get to know each other better. I liked that Cord asked Anthony, who answered very honestly. I liked that Cord has some intuition about Griffin's real motives.

If there were errors, I couldn't find them. You are doing such a marvelous job with this novel. In my mind, I go back (what, five to ten years) to the other novels you wrote for FS. Your style, your voice, your technique all have vastly evolved.

Great chapter, with some interesting developments. I have some advice for Ali and Cord. Cord, treating Ali as if she's in constant need of protection. You're not doing her any good. She'll become too dependent. Ali, don't let Cord take over your life. You're capable of taking care of yourself. You were ready to take on Pat on behalf of the other women, you can surely get a restraining order against Alan or report him if he's assaulted you. Great handling of the NYC setting. judi
